  Ferguson Shooting (Is my thinking on this all wrong.......)

  i think everyone here can agree that walking down the street, even in the middle of the street, is not cause for having a clip emptied in your ass......... i can understand how the black community would be outraged by the injustice of seeing another black man dead in the street at the hands of the police under mysterious circumstances....... i hope that i'm not succumbing to the attempts to assinate the already well impuned character of the dead man...... however.

  i can't help but think that this could all have been avoided by exercising the proper discretion with fore-knowledge of the disadvantages people of color have when they are dealing with law enforcement in the united states.

  it is not as if this disadvantage has only since recently came to light.

  Yes, I agree with Simon. The Black leaders are whooping up the media for their own glorification. I see them as highly responsible for making the riots worse. They have given the establishment reason to ponder this off on 'just being a group of thugs, bored, fatherless thugs with nothing to do on a hot summer day." Black leaders are shooting the black race in the foot.

  If black people dying was such an issue, then why not focus on the gangs and needless gun violence? Chicago, St. Louis, are terrible for black-on-black violence. The black leaders are letting their own people down. And, especially if this 18 year old "kid", beat up the policeman and robbed a store. Pick a better poster child then this one!

  Black leaders need to be at the root of the problem. No jobs. Lack of fathers in the home. Educational opportunties are there, but are lacking becuase the school environment in the inner cities is so terrible. Kids don't want to go to school. Either not cool, unsafe, gangs, need to work, join a gang for protection, etc.

  It's just like the WTS. The leaders glorify themselves, but don't do a thing to help the real victims.

  Mike Brown punched the officer several times in his face. Not exactly a good move. He also had just robbed a store. The police were "at the ready" and "militarized". Why did they have to be that way? Oh, St. Louis is a rough place. Ever been there? I'll wait until ALL the evidence comes out on what exactly happened before I condemn anyone. Doesn't look like either side is innocent.

  The real issue is the lack of jobs/opportunity in the entire US. And, the downturn has effected the black population and black youth, the worst. They have the highest unemployment rate and, unfortunately, lack of degrees. Leaders of both black & white & any color, need to address to all youth, and especially the underprivileged youth, the need for strong education. And, businesses need to pull back from overseas operations to employ our own.

  Two wrongs don't make a right. And, the rioting and looting is wrong. If I was in charge, I'd call on them to stop. They aren't helping their cause, just reinforcing a stereotype.

  What needs to be done, is that everyone needs to get down to business and hard work.

  while i was in florida during the spring visiting my oldest sister.

  i had the time of my life with my brother in law.. you see my sister married a non-believer and my parents viewed him as the scum of the earth, so i was terrified to ever talk to him.

  turns out he's one of the coolest people i have ever met.

  there are a number of such observations being recently made - such as a large number with debts subject to collection and people facing retirement with no savings.. i advise the wts to 'take the money and run'.

  Shoot, alot these people have money. They just choose to spend it all. Members of my family scream that they are dead broke and ask to borrow money, then, in a few months, go to Biloxi to gamble, join a golf club, buy a horse, custom saddle, or a boat. All of them have nice I-Phones. Meanwhile, I choose to have an old phone. Laugh at me, but I can come up with $400, and I've closed the bank.

  Wow! A trial to watch! Wished I lived there, I'd go to the court to see it.

  I wonder how many JWs come to court to support her? They usually pack the courthouses to support JW's accused of pedophilia. Dress up all nice, and everything. Try to show that the accused is an outstanding person. I love it when the Witlesses do that. Makes them look like the cult they are. Scientology does that too, pack the courthouse to show solidarity. Just makes the religion and followers look even crazier. I bet the judges just roll their eyes when the Scientologists or JWs pack the courthouse. LOL.

  I'm a little confused. Is this a biological sister or a religous sister? If it's a religious sister, then she is a little nuts and has the hots for you. Alot of women absolutely adore gay men, and "if only they were straight" they say! If it's a biological sister, then she's a mess in her mind, loves you immensly, and really beleives the WTS bullhocky. The WTS is whoopping up the fear factor right now.

  Either way, you said that she "was in a bit of a mess . . " and then, immediately, began spewing her religion on you. I've seen that too. When the followers are in the worst mental shape, that's when they go all out preaching to you. It's as if they are unsure/unsettled themselves, and find some assurance and safety by changing the subject to their religion. Yes, it's emotional. It's becuase they were in an emotional state when they were "in a bit of a mess", but couldn't vocalize it. Now, given the religion's arguments and training, they can vocalize their emotions. And, by talking about religion, they get to a better mental state. I think her saying that you're going to not be in Jehovah's favor becuase you are disfellowshipped, gay, whatever . . . she is reassuring herself that she is in Jehovah's favor. And, she's doubly in Jehovah's favor becuase she's trying to convert you back. Now, she doesn't have to go back to face why she "was in a bit of a mess". The reliigon is her coping mechanism to something alot deeper. Plus, she put ALL of her internal guilt that was making her uncomfortable onto YOU. So, she probably was on a high when she left. Because, normal people don't act that way.

  Next time it happens, assure her that she's a wonderful person and Jehovah God, if there is one, would definately put her in the best spot. He would be a fool to not see that. Say it once, and she likely won't go religious postal on you again. If she comes back with 'you're not doing x", then you can counter with: 1) she's judging and 2) God judges from within. If she comes back again on you about religion, tell her to see a shrink. She's using you as a guilt trip snot rag for her own validiation.

  p.s. I've also routinely see JW relatives complain, complain, complain about the Kingdom Hall, WTS, treatment by other followers, etc. They will complain directly to me. And, whether i nod or change the subject or disagree, they follow their complaints with PREACHING to me about how wonderful the Borganization is! Then afterwards, they are so happy with themselves and the Organization. Their preaching, was really to themselves. Now, they are at peace, content, and ready to study their materials for the next meeting. Meanwhile, I'm like, silently, "This dude's elevator skips a few floors."

  p.s.s. Being gay isn't a sin. If it was, then Jesus would have addressed it. Becuase, it was going on then.
