does the wt always carefully phrase sentences so as to never take blame?
by sowhatnow inim recalling a time when i sat and circled words in a watchtower article, indicating strongly the fact that it is in fact the writters opinion.. however just the suggestion in the sentence these words are ignored.. for example.
it is our understanding.
we believe this to be the case.

Followed up always by an article on "obey", "we are God's channel of communication", "dont' run ahead of the Organization", and the catchall, "avoid independent thinking."

I am so sorry. There was a JW article about 2 years ago that said, "You shouldn't be afraid of losing your community when you change religions." It was based on incoming (not outgoing) JWs. But, I'd give it to your wife.
THen, go see a divorce attorney ASAP. Call the local or state bar. Alot of the attorneys may give you 1/2 hour free consultation.

Jehovah's Witnesses Application for Trolley Preaching Rejected by Village of Glen Ellyn, Illinois
by jwleaks inglen ellyn won't allow jehovah's witnesses brochure rack on sidewalk.
http://www.chicagotribune.com/suburbs/glen-ellyn/ct-jehovah-witness-brochures-tl-20141209-story.html.
the glen ellyn village board (usa) on monday night voted 4-2 to reject a request by a kingdom hall of jehovah's witnesses north of glen ellyn to place a portable brochure rack on a public sidewalk in downtown glen ellyn for evangelistic purposes.. glen ellyn currently bars commercial signage and the placement of any kind of structure whether temporary or permanent on its public sidewalks without village board approval.

The poor restaurant. Don't they have a say? This is going to deter business for them, becuase MOST people avoid the JWs like they would a homeless person. Why don't they set up the trolley in front of their Kingdumb Hall (or, at least, make it a moving trolley). I mean, don't subject this one restaurant.

Are you an "out of the closet" atheist?
by rebel8 ini'm atheist and not ashamed of it.
however, it is so politically incorrect, especially where i live.
i have a legitimate concern that being out of the closet too much will hurt my career or neighborly relations--i know for a fact it probably would.. i'm really cautious about who i tell.. how about you?

Yes, pretty much out of the closet. Told my JW relatives that I didn't beleive in God, God(s), Bible, god of abraham, Devil, Satan, Demons . . . . But, I don't wear an "I hate God" attitude on my shoulder. So, I'm not a violent atheist.
Was at hockey practice the other night. Cute kid is playing a guessing game, "I'm thinking of someone in the sky." I replied, "The man in the moon?" id goes, "Noooooooooo." I just smiled. Then, another parent chimed in, "God?"

How did your family react when you made it known that you did not want to be a JW anymore?

I was not baptised.
They all talked behind my back, sent elders to my door (who I sent away). They kept in contact with me, in part to borrow money, and in part . . I just don't know why.
And, in part to gripe to me about their own JW issues, and then to try to reconvert me a few days later. Strange behavior, until I figured it out. They have misgivings, voice them to me, then feel guilty, then decide to be loyal to Jah, then try to reconvert me becuase preaching solidifies their shaky faith.
Throughout all of this, they give me digs on my family, life, job, new truck, successes, compare me to others . . . oh, it's pure hell. Underneath, they really don't like me becuase I've succeeded without the cult and am happy. And, as long as they gripe about me living my life wrong, they don't have to examine their own issues. They have decided to not marry, no children, not go to college, gave up hobbies they enjoyed . . . .
I finally had to take a break from them for my own sanity. I don't hate them, but they aggravate me to no end. Been the best few months of my life.

Are Jehovah's Witnesses Psycopaths?
by stuckinarut2 ini have been thinking that jws display an organizationally officially promoted form of thinking that makes them psycopaths!.
what i mean is, any person who enjoyed reading and leaning about past gruesome deaths, or who justified such things as being normal or acceptable would be deemed to be dangerous to society...a psychopath.
(by this i am refferring to the content of the bible of course).

My own daughter has much suffered; she will get justice in due time.
by TheFadingAlbatros injust learned today direct from my beloved daughter that she has been abused between 5 and 12 years old by 2 brothers (her own cousins) and 1 family "friend".
she has attempted suicide a few days ago.
luckily she is living and she is not physically injured.

I am so sorry.
In the quest to take back power, your family should report to the police once she's able to do so. The last thing the pedo's want is to have their name out there, and they are very afraid of being exposed. But, it will get it on record, and help other people who may also have been abused. Victims often feel powerful once tehy may the report I don't know what country you are in, but many times the laws will allow the victim's name to be kept confidential. Also, civil litigation can often be brought in the name of "Jane Doe". She can later change it, if she wants, to reveal her own name.
