Did you buy new clothes for the Memorial?
by MsMcDucket ini was just wondering how many people went out and bought new clothes for the memorial.
did you feel like it was a festive holiday like easter or did you just feel like it was another meeting that you had to attend?

Anyone feeling the Memorial pressure?
by atypical infor those who are fading, do you feel the pressure building as the memorial approaches?
family members who otherwise are busy with their own interests suddenly start paying more attention, dropping hints and holding their breath as it were.
then there are the invitations.

Nope, my family would not DARE ask me. They know I'd get up, go to the "bathroom" (slip out the back door) to put my own material (copies of recent newspaper, etc.) on the windshields of all attendants!

All of our differences aside, I am very sorry to hear of your loss. It's very hard to lose a parent. My thoughts are with you.

Gee, I wish we all spoke the same language. Why did Jehovah twist the tongues? Translations make communicating that much harder.

How the Technology Kills the Beast...
by AuldSoul in...or so it begins.. firstly, pre-1991 ex-jws (a term which i find preferable to apostates) felt fairly isolated from one another, had few lifelines to the outside world, and were unlikely to find out much more than whatever they left because of.
hearing experiences of people returning to the borg after a horrible experience on the outside was not uncommon at all.
without a support structure and generally having lost even family support through the disfellowshipping/disassociation policy, returning seemed the only way to establish a modicum of stability.

Very good post Auldsoul. It's amazing what information can do. It has the power to destroy the lies and myths.
Religion can still be mystical and spiritual. But, they can not be based on lies which are verifiable on this Earth. The WTS will cease to exist because it stood behind the curtain of control and deception.

Sorry, I misread the thread. I did not see the word "non" when I read it last night (riday night, worked all week, blah, blah, blah, human error, please forgive me). But, the good news is that it looks like if the Belgium ex-JW can prove discrimination......then there is perhaps a case. That's a small "yes" in our favor, and much better than a "HELL NO" as we say in the house.
The Court of Appeal of Liege has now made its judgement public. It once more decided on a non suit of Jacques’ request by estimating that it was up to him to prove discrimination but for the first time, in its considerations, the Court of Appeal of Liege considered that the instructions with regard to excluded members and followers who wish to leave the community constitute a discrimination.

Custody brochure next to be examined?
by alamb inthe blood information has now been dissected and shown for what it is.. .
the custody brochure encourages members to commit perjury, which is unconstitutional and unlawful.
this is another weak point.

I think we should send a copy of this custody brochure to each State's Bar Association, each State's Attorney General, and State's Prosecutor's office. Divorce law varies by State, and that is why this is important to get into the State's hands.
This is a project. Can we get 150 original copies of this booklet? If not, we can work around that.
Can everyone look up their State's top honchos & Bar Association/head of's address & p.m. to me?
Lawyers often "coach" their clients on what to say and what not to say. That is ok. But, deception against a court is not. In fact, any person can file a complaint against the opposing attorney for perjury with the State's Bar Association. The Bar Association will sanction the attorney if it holds that the attorney went "too far". Word will get around that this booklet is a deception on the court. WTS credibility will be hurt.
As far as I know, journalism takes a college degree. How is the child going to go into journalism without college?

I am not sure exactly what this Belgium court is saying about the freedom of worship & shunning hurting that. I need to see the court documents to know precisely this Belgium court's angle.
But, I have seen writings that state that
- Freedom of religion = the freedom to choose a religion, AND
- Freedom of religion = the freedom to LEAVE a religion, AND
- Freedom of religion = the freedom to DISAGREE with a religion.
Shunning is an impediment to the freedom to leave/disagree with a religion, especially when it involves breaking apart the family structure. The family unit is the bedrock to our society and very important to governments. The family unit is each of our safety nets for when we get into trouble. Who is the first person you call when you're having a really big problem? Dear old comforting Mom or money-bags Dad, I bet. For those of us with children, who is the one who can make your worst day bearable? Your child. When you are old, who is willing to talk & walk slow with you? Your grandchild. That is why the State has a say in marital, divorce, adoption, domestic relationship law. Losing one's family contacts will drive you nuts or make you a street bum, as the people on this website will attest to. Organizational-induced shunning breaks apart your family bonds. It's what keeps some in, some unwilling to leave due to feared divorce/shunning by their child, some who will only speak against the JWs under fake names, etc.
Ask those on this web-site, "Does being trapped in a religion that you disagree with because you are afraid your family members will shun you, kick you out of their house, not allow you to see your children, grandchildren, parents, siblings, etc., not take you in when you are sick/hungry/down on your luck, a real fear that keeps you going to the KH against their own desire to leave the religion and worship elsewhere (or nowhere)?" Unless another Belgium court overturns this decision, if you are a Belgium JW who has been disfellowshipped (i.e. shunned by friends and family) you can sue the WTS. Belgium court decisions are not binding on US courts. But, US courts do sometimes quote court cases from other countries and use their reasoning. In otherwords, this decision is another chip into the WTS's fortress.
