Radiation plume no danger to Arizona
by darthfader inthis may be of interest to those of us in the southwestern us.
in light of the graphc and story from the new york times -- which shows the flow over the pacific ocean and over the southwestern us: http://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2011/03/16/science/plume-graphic.html?ref=science.

I heard an expert talking about some of the differences today. It's not all the same. And length of exposure appears to be key. "Radiation" is a blanket. Xrays are Gamma? This stuff included all manner of toxic shit. One of them has plutonium, which apparently is much worse. Dunno, I was on my way to work and just got the gist before I had to go.
I'm not primarily focused on this "plume" and the US by the way, I'm thinking about Japan specifically and nuclear energy in general.

Dude I KNEW it when I saw the title. These priests and the teacher should just be taken behind the church and shot.

Incidentally, I love the way this thread title is worded. Glenn Beck on his game. Yep you bet, a multimillion dollar game. A game that leaves a small crowd of gullible Americans a little more clueless. And probably 30.00 bucks poorer at book time.

Taking a conservative or libertarian position on this board is insane.
Why's that? You are in the majority.

What about crops, grass eaten by food animals etc? Water sources? Fish?

I can see how an older person with no imagination might be at a loss with Lord of the Rings. Especially if they hadn't read the books.

I have been annoyed over the last few days with news sources that take a pea size grain of truth and wrap it up into a football sized speculation. As Metatron said "if it bleeds it leads"
Actually you are right. I am a sort of health info nut, and read all the latest. With a grain of salt (not too much of course, that sodium is a killer), so much of it is conflicting. There was an article in Time or Newsweek about a year ago, about this very thing. One big problem is access to information. We are on a 24/7 info cycle, and so we get news on say, heart health studies before it has even been compiled. That must carry out to all other forms of information too. We hear it as it is being gathered and interpreted.
