they'd always use phrases like "many persons do this" or "one expert says", or "many believe".
the person being referred to or quoted is always veiled in obscurity.

Dave Mustaine of Megadeth was raised as a JW.
by AGreenmachine inmegadeth is a heavy metal band fronted by dave mustaine, who was raised as a jehovah's witness.
mustaine was the original lead guitar player for metallica,in the early 80's, before they kicked him out for drunk behavior.
i have been a fan of megadeth for years, but recently found out he was raised as a jw.

I think he is credited on some songs on the Kill Em' All album.

you will also know that, after winning my battle with watchtower (save for one daughter who is still stuck fast in the org and shunning the rest of us), i have been fighting an even greater battle these past three years - cancer!.

Disgusting comment re: education from Tacoma 2007 District Convention

the speaker first starts with what he called the "alphabet soup" of degrees....a.a., b.a., m.a., ph.d., etc.
; he said they were nothing more than "sheepskins on the wall.

No DC next year, last DC?
by doinmypart ina relative said there may not be dcs next year.
he said on the last day of this year's dc when the final speaker goes through all the reports & experiences, the speaker said next year's dc have not been planned yet and the gb will make an announcement later this year.
did anyone else hear a similar announcement?

Now, usually at this point of the during our convention, we look forward to hearing about plans being made about future conventions, don't we? We just can't wait for the information, but you know this time we are going to have to wait. Because the Governing Body is going to make this information available a little later on this year. So we look forward to getting that information then.

This is pretty much a tactic to have a sense of urgency that the end is close, but it's BS as usual. They pretty much have a variaiton of this evry year at the DC.

i had some problems on day 1 with reception, so i was only able to get one talk and day 3 we were late getting there.
also, i didn't include the drama as there is another thread on that hopefully some will be able to provide transcripts like live life did with the education talk to promote discussion of the material (again, thanks live life).
