I moved a little further to the left economically than the last time I took this test. Maybe it's because the test questions are a bit different, but I still consider myself a "moderate" .
Economic Left/Right: -4.38
Authoritarian/Libertarian: -5.28 -

Are You Afraid That You Will Die at Armageddon?
by minimus inthe watchtower constantly threatens us that we must be on guard or else.
are you afraid that you will die at armageddon??
?

Persons that are afraid that they will die at Armageddon are persons that are afraid that they will die. If once we die, we're dead, well, then there's not much you can do about it. And if you just cease living and you recieve no further pain or suffering, I can live with that.
Exactly, minimus. I really don't have any kind of belief about what will happen to me after I die. It seems most likely that I will simply cease to exist, so since I'll be unaware of the fact it will bother me as much as my non existence before my birth bothered me. If there's something in the form of an afterlife, then fine, but I'm not worried about it or planning my life around it.

Have you ever had a "part" in an assembly?
by doodle-v inwell guys, i've been part of this discussion group for about two weeks and i must say it's been really fun!
i always look forward to reading everyone's thoughts on so many different topics.. i grew up in the troof, so needless to say it was a major part of my life.
my whole childhood was engulfed in meetings, field service, book study, bible study, watchtower study.

I was in a drama at a DC once. A talking (or should I say lip-sinking ?) part.
I remember seeing a part on the convention similiar to the one you describe. I wished I was one of the bad kids, too.

Top 10 Signs Your Religion Is Dying.
by SYN inyour leadership is a bit dodgy.
for starters, theyre all so close to deaths door that he has repeatedly asked them to stop loitering and just ring the bell.
theyre so old and wizened that they have a hearse on 24-hour standby.

Did you take down notes at the meetings?
by JH inwere you the type to always jot down every little detail the brothers said from the podium?.
i found it amusing when especially sisters were always writting notes in their pads when the brother was giving a talk in the front.. i wonder if it was because they found the topic interesting, or because they wanted to look as if they were learning something.. i was all ears, but never took down notes.
that's odd, coming from a person who is "visual".

Did you take down notes at the meetings?
Not at the congregation meetings, but sometimes at the assemblies or conventions.

Political campaigns disgust me
by Reborn2002 ini do not care if you endorse the republican party, democrats, independents, or even the green party.
but to see such inordinate amounts of money go into campaigns disgusts me.
the economy is flailing and people are homeless and starving, all the while these fatcats live high off the hog and mingle at dinners while kissing one another's asses.. this is not a post directed specifically at any candidate.

....And don't forget the second richest man in the world is a Democrat, ThiChi. However, I have to wonder about those statistics you threw out. Did the Democrats get a lot of money from unions, etc., which looked like it came from super- rich people? I have a hard time believing that too many rich people would not favour the Republican tax plan over the Democratic one (except for the Hollywood guys).
I definitely agree with the main topic of this thread. Publicly financed elections would go a large way in eliminating the problem we see in politics today.
While LeBron James' contract would not have been approved if I was Nike's CEO, I tend to think people in general pick on athlete's salaries too much. They wouldn't be getting it if we didn't care about them so much (so stop watching the Dolphins choke every year , dubla. j/k. sort of ). I think Alex Rodriguez' $252 million was way less outrageous than Derek Jeter's $189 million. And this is coming from a Yankee fan.
