VSky,
I think you are right? I just have to stop hoping as it skews my judgement.
Basically it is true then if a girl is interested she won't shy from showing it.
It was probably said tongue in cheek but sometimes I do think there is something wrong with her only because on a regular basis she will see me and ignore me like I wasn't there and on other days she is very chirpy with me. This is weird stuff.
Misanthropic,
I don't know for sure if she really meant no to the question of will you miss me. She's not that much of a sarcky person you get the odd remark though.
I'm not saying she is play a game but asking whether girls for their own reasons become cryptic about liking a guy.
I was under the impression that when a girl likes a guy she makes sure he knows about it. Am I right?

Girls help!!! What signs when a woman is interested in a guy?
by Spectrum ingenerally i find that if a girl is interested in me she makes it quite obvious by her actions and words.
i'm fine with this.
however there are times when a i really can't tell and this is the problem i'm grappling with at the moment.

Generally I find that if a girl is interested in me she makes it quite obvious by her actions and words. I'm fine with this.
However there are times when a I really can't tell and this is the problem I'm grappling with at the moment. The fact that I can't tell, is that a sign that she isn't likely to be interested or are things more complicated than that?
The background is we house-share and when we first got to know each other about 6 weeks ago she definitely seemed interested in me, at least I think so. Two weeks after meeting she cooled off and since then I've not got the same vibes from her although there still seems to be something there because she doesn't like me talking about other girls or converse with other girls and not talk to her. But why should she care?
She's about 15 years younger than me. Maybe intially she didn't realise.
I asked her if she wanted to come dancing with me one evening, she said yes, but not enthuiastically kind of, OK if you want. Needless to say I didn't take her. Today she told me that she is going away for a few days and so I asked if she is going to miss me and she said no. Should that be the kiss of death to my perception that there is still a chance?
I suppose my basic question to the girls is if you are interested in a guy will you for any reason be cryptic about it (even when he is showing interest in you) or do you always make it obvious?
And, have you ever shown initial interest in a guy then pulled back even though the guy hadn't changed on you?
I can't ask her straight as it would be too awkward at the moment. If the situation was different I would. I don't want to make her feel uncomfortable living here. -

What are your most hated JW words and phrases?
by Low-Key Lysmith inmine are, in no particular order:.
"the friends".
"glean".

I don't know if they still say it but 20 years ago they would say that,
"the worst JW is still better than the best worldly person"
What effing BS.
I get a hateful feeling when I remember this little pearl of self-righteous BS because I believed it and unjustly looked down at my friends and relatives and couldn't have a proper friendship them. -

This is how the WTS can make BLOOD allowable and not loose members
by jwfacts ini was discussing with my auntie how in the 70's transplants were not allowed, and then in the 80's they were, and asked that since people died by not having a transplant what evidence this had of gods direction.
he answer enlightened me.
she said "transplants were dangerous in the 70's and so god was protecting his people from them.

jwfacts,
"But how to get away with it without loosing members. Say that God was protecting his members by making blood transfusions wrong before. Reinforce the huge risks blood used to pose during the 20th century from AIDS, Hepatitis etc. Quote that old survey that 100,000 Americans used to get HepC each year from blood. Say how grateful every JW should be that God used the WTS to protect his people. Then end that now blood is not as dangerous it is a conscience matter. "
This is interesting. We say to JWs that the facts speak for themselves open your eyes and see the real truth and here you have presented an excellent defense JW use for abstaining from blood and yet in our obsession to beat them over the head on the blood issue we have become like them. -

Matt.27: 51-54 Do you remember WT saying these were bodies tossed about?
by whyizit ini swear that my jw friend told me that matt.
27:51-54 wasn't really speaking of a resurrection, but that the bodies were tossed out of the graves by the quake and only "appeared" to be alive, ....etc.....( they were tumbling around and looked like they were walking, but they were really just dead bodies that fell out of their graves and were moving around because of the quake.).
have any of you heard this before, and could you give me a clearer explanation of how this was explained?

Text deep - true but the authors are trying to pass it off as a real life drama so finding omissions like, what was Lazarus doing when his saviour was having a hard time of it, allows you to question the validity of the story from yet another angle.
If the person's life that saved me was in danger I'd move heaven and earth to save him. It just shows that the Lazarus story was just that a feel good story and one to give the Christ his divine powers.
I thought the beloved disciple was John -

A digression,
When Jesus was being pummelled then crucified where was Lazarus? Did he not come to pay his respects to the person that gave him back his life? -

Help me interpret this dream...
by serendipity ini had a really weird dream last night.
in my dream, i was in an old house, spying on three men in a bathtub through a cracked door.
they were just bathing, but in my dream i was thinking they were gay.

Third parties cannot interpret dreams unless they know the person intimately. I'll have a go though just for fun.
Hitler represented your past or present abhorance of homosexuality. I suspect it's past abhorance because Hitler a figure from the past that has come to life representing a reminder that you once disliked homosexuality. Hiding because now you no longer feel/see homosexuality as a sin and wich to extracate yourself from this old feeling or it could or be fear that you should believe that homosexuality is bad so you go and hide from this feeling.
The bath tub represents the cleasing/removal of immorality status of homosexuality hitler just reminds you this is not true, it is immoral.
If you knew that the nazis saw homosexuality as degenerate and a punishable offence then my intrepretation would make more sense.
How's that? -

Complete ban on smoking in public places just passed in England
by ballistic infrom summer after next, smoking will be banned in any public place including pubs and clubs in england.. although i plan on giving up again, i still don't agree with government interfering like this.
they had previously.
made proposals for some pubs to remain licensed for smoking which i thought would have been a workable compromise.

What's the government's definition of a public place. I thought that the normal nightclubs that students go to were considered private.
The worst thing about a night club is the acrid smoke. I went to one latin club once paid £7 walked in choked on the dense nasty smoke and walked out a couple of minutes later. No refund.
If it the law straightens out places like this then it's a good thing. -

Jesus = Ancient Pagan gods??
by Lilycurly ini'm reading a book and this morning i got to a part where it claimed that the life of jesus was very similar, if no downright copied on ancient pagan myths of different men-gods.
(amongst them osiris, dionysos, attis, adonis, bacchus and mithra.).
it said that in the different versions of the stories these elements could be found:.

Questions
Why would Jesus take on the persona or shadow some pagan belief so word for word?
What credibility would he have?
And why would he be better at it than the original who would have the advantage of religious mysticism? -

Is the truth of something the path of least resistance?
by Spectrum inunless hidden or confused by disinformation i believe that knowing the truth is found by following the path of least resistance.
if this criterion is not met then you cannot conclude that you have the truth.
the truth has a way of sorting itself out unless unatural forces are used to skew it.

serendipity,
"Woman with big butt: "Baby, does my butt look fat in these jeans? "
Man not hesitating for a second: "No."
He took the path of least resistance. What is truth?"
Are you trying to say that a womans butt is enough to ruin this hypothesis we've carefully elaborated in this thread?!!!
