serendipity,
I did ask her but she wouldn't tell me. Everytime I asked her she just teared up. When she turned up yesterday I thought it wasn't wise to ask her again. I never offended I'm sure of that.
Nina,
I hope you are right. It put a smile on my face when I read your post but at the same time don't want fasle hope. I think she is mixed up about something - don't know what though.
kls,
thanks for your sentiments.
misanthropic,
I think if she had feelings for me I would have known. I've not yet met a girl that could hide those feelings from me. Maybe this one was good at hiding those feelings. If that is the case I'll probably never know now. Maybe this is the answer.
luna2,
She is very apt with computers and mobile phones and what-not. That isn't the problem, she just doesn't want to communicate.
She disappears for a year then shows up to say goodbye.
Just before she got up to leave she said that she met a lovely family and she was going to invite them to stay with her in Spain for the summer. That's when I realised she for some reason she just called it a day with me.

I'm feeling low - losing a friend
by Spectrum ini met a girl about a year and a half ago and we became really good platonic friends.
she was bright, cute and always put a smile on my face with her lovely sense of humour, just a great girl.
then one day with tears in her eyes she told me she had to leave but wouldn't tell me why.

Fighting it is all I can do. I wasn't expecting to see her again and now a have to start all over again with the realisation that it's final.
luna2,
She's going to Spain but didn't offer me any contact details and that really hurt. I don't know why she did what she did. I was always kind to her, never had an argument with her and never said no to her, I couldn't she was so sweet. -

Then one day with tears in her eyes she told me she had to leave but wouldn't tell me why. She left, and I went to the pub and got drunk. The passage of time "healed me" but I couldn't think about her and not feel an emptiness and a loss so I tried not to think about her.
Today a year later she called me out of the blue and told me she was coming to see me. I was so happy. I went and bought her favourite ice cream that we used to share. I thought she wanted to continue where we left off but instead she came to tell me that she is leaving the UK for good and it's a final goodbye. I asked her to keep in touch but I know she won't. She returned a television that I bought for her during our good times but looking at it hurts, it represents a great loss to me but at the same time it's all I've got of her and can't bring myself to throwing it out.
Don't know what to do, how to not be sad when I think about her. -

Accepting your mortality sets you free from JWism.

It was a depressing feeling when I realised I was actually going to die like everybody else. Who me, die? No chance. I have my JW last days trump card.
When this realisation eventually hit me a drepressing feeling came over me and an attempt at denial but to deny it meant going back to the JW ark as it was the only way to live forever.
And that is the key point here. Anybody that tries to escape must simultaneously give up their immortality and that is something very hard to do. After all turkeys don't vote for christmas.
Looking at it from this angle it is understandable why they have such a strong hold on intelligent people. They deny their intelligence and wisdom to deny death. I think it is that simple.
I was lucky because i just stopped going and it wasn't until years later that it had occurred to me (depressingly so)that I was actually going to die by which time I'd given up on the idea of ever being involved with them. Had this realisation hit me sooner the time I stopped going to their meetings it might have sucked me back in again.

Hello, I am new here...I think!?!?!?
by Kero-kero inhello everyone.. i am new to this forum...at least i think i am...i swear that i joined before and left a message...but maybe i was just dreaming.. anyway, i am, what seems to be termed in this forum, a fading jw.
my wife is still a jw and when i try to talk to her she will go on about me becoming an apostate, but i have learnt so much about the wtbts these last few months that fading and leaving is so easy for me now.
i know that there is a lot of hate and false stuff said about the wtbts but also a lot of things are true, like the famous ngo business and being a shareholder of a company that produces parts that are used in weapons.

Welcome Kero Kero,
I think the Org has a tendency to attract people with a predisposition to depression because these are the type of people that are looking for a way out of this world. Of course as you know the Org offers this dream so they are in effect a captive audience.
If you are not depressed then they make you so by telling you that this world is rubbish, you hate it, you don't want to live in it, everybody in it will die unless you accept our teachings of Jehovah and his FDS. -

Better off Poor in UK than Rich in US!
by Seeker4 innational public radio this morning had a story about a study of middle-aged (55-64 yo) whites in the uk compred to the us.
they were shocked at the results.
the study was done to try to find out the effects of poverty on health , which is why they just studied whites, to eliminate the effects of race.

Seeker,
Shame you can't source that organic food near you at an affordable price.:(
"The chicken actually being full of fat I'll have to look into. That doesn't make sense to me. Fat is fat. How do they make fat look like lean meat? I've cut open many a wild turkey, and the meat looks no different than a Shaw's Butterball."
I pretty sure this is true. I saw a documentary where they had demonstrated this but maybe I got something wrong. They defintely said that factory chickens have much more fat on them than normal chickens.
The url below will explain some things to you. The omega stuff is really important. What factory farming has managed to do is swap the ratio of omega 3 / omega 6 increasing to a dangerously high level of omega 6.

Can Anyone Solve this Quote?
by Amazing1914 inluke records the following:
and as they ministered to the lord, and fasted, the holy spirit said, "separate me barnabus and saul for the work whereunto i have called them.

At the end of the day when all is said and done does it matter which way it is understood? Does it change the meaning or message of Christ?
Maybe the Holy Spirit has duality like electrons. Sometimes they behave like matter with mass, momentum and position and at other times like waves with wavelength. -

Seeker4,
this cheap chicken that you buy is probably the worst chicken in the world to eat. It can only be a factory farmed chicken which simply means your are damaging your long term health.
Despite popular belief these chicken are NOT low fat their physiology has been changed so much that they are no longer natural. Even if you remove the visible fat you are left with a high fat meat with all sorts of hormones are and other crap added to it due to the farmer's methods of growing chickens at twice their natural rate. -

Serendipity,
I glad to see that you try and are aware of this, I think that you are in the minority.
In the UK there is an excellent nutritionist who has developed creative ways of feeding children vegetables and it actually works.
The other system is let them starve and they'll eat anything. In my day we ate what we got and no complaining, maybe we too soft on our kids today.
With dressings stick to first cold press olive oil with a little lemon or pure butter. -

Ever since Mcdonalds parked on our door step the diet of the UK has gone down the pan. The British diet is all about cheap trans acid ridden oils, high sugar content in everything that contains sugar, low veg and fruit.
Women's attitude has also changed, they no longer like the kitchen and as a result don't provide nutritious meals for their children. The crap I see some mothers feed their children is unbelievable.
Proper diets are found in the Mediterranean along with longer healthier lives. Women from the Mediterranean especially from North Africa still consider it their role to provide nutritional food for their families. I'm talking about secular and highly educated women with a mind of their own.
