I just remembered, my JW brother-in-law ripped me off when he sold me a car. He hyped up the price to it's market value had it had warranteed mileage and sold it to me with warranteed mileage. A few months after buying it I asked him to give me the warrantee as I wanted to sell the car, he told me he wouldn't give it to me. Obviously the car's mileage wasn't warranteed. Without the warrantee the car was worth about £800 less. Scumbag.

the seven year itch
by Crumpet inex -mr crumpet and i after just shy of 8 years together have found we are arguing more and more and have decided to split up.
since we made the decision on monday this week we have been getting on like a house on fire.
the arguments have stopped, he is on time for all his appointments to meet, which hasn't happened in years, he phones if he's going to be late and i have stopped being a moody cow and drinking all his wine without permission.. the hope is that we will get back together and find eahc other attractive again after a break from one another.

Several times but everytime we got back together we also got back into the routine that got us separated.
It was obvious that we were going round in circles so we broke up for good. I think had either one of us found someone else between the breakups we would have not got back together. So getting back together had alot to with being with someone, espcially one you are used to, than no one, rather than that we really missed each other and couldn't be apart.
I've been without her since and much better for it, not that she was a bad girl, if anything she was the better person of the two of us.

My dad a non JW and a soft natured guy gave a construction job to a couple of seasoned JWs on the condition that he would pay them soon after they were finished not because he didn't trust them but simply because he didn't have enough money at that time. If it didn't suit them, then fine he'd wait 5 weeks until enough money come in and they could do it then. Fear of losing the contract to someone else prompted them to agree to do it and receive all the funds at about the 5 week.
When they finished (3 weeks to complete the work)they came to my dad asking for the money. My dad told them he didn't have it as yet and reminded them of the deal they made. On hearing that they started to threaten him, that they would get the money out of him one way or another, it was all quite nasty but eventually the left. My dad paid them on the fifth week as promised.
What the duck was that all about?
Having said that, the only truly honest builder I've met in my life was a JW. But that is in the guys nature, nothing to do with the religion of setting him straight or anything like that. -

What was the strangest or nicest experience you had at a door?
by Sheepish ini remember one lady who was so nice to us, she invited us into her foyer/porch area outside her front door where she had a huge owl that had come to hang out.
it was amazing to be so close to it, and we forgot all about the magazine offer!

I worked for JW doing back breaking work for a while only to be told by another JW that he was ripping me of - he was paying me half the going rate. I was only 17 and naive didn't know anything about the world of work.
When I found out I was being unfairly paid I asked him only if he could at least pay for my petrol so that the little he gave me was clear money. I wasn't nasty and hadn't insinuated anything. I just asked a straight question.
He came out with a nasty sarcastic remark to the effect that I was trying to rip him off.
I was really disgusted with his response finished my week and never worked for him again even though he asked me too. -

Americans you seem to love your lobster. Is it cheap in the US? In the UK it's very expensive I think equivalent to 50 dollars each so it's not that popular. I tried it once in my life and loved it.
I love crab too.
Red mullet is my favourite fish floured and shallow fried in olive oil. -
