Help - I'm in love with a JW!

and i am not a jw.

from what i gather reading this site that makes me "worldly".

anyway, i am embarrassed to say we are both married and have children.

That's the thing about a can of worms. When they all start wriggling out you don't know which one to deal with first. You find yourself overwhelmed. Here are a few worms that come to mind and remember, each one has its own sub-set of worms.

1. Two divorces and the accoutrements of divorce- division of property, alimony, child support, housing- in a word your finances will be totally F'd up for a long time. Financial and legal problems have a cold shower effect on passion and passion is what is supposed to fuel this expedition into adultery.

2. The kids. Who lives with who. Don't be surprised if one of yours and/or hers decides they hate you and/or her and act out. The innocent parties won't just disappear, there'll be visitation and a certain amount of interaction that you will find to be a regular reminder of your decision and its consequences.

3. Her being a JW could be one of the biggest, nastiest worms of all. It sounds like you a have a vague plan for her to go ahead and get DF'd and then be contrite and get reinstated?? Are you serious?

I can clearly see you a short time down this ugly piece of road, lying in bed staring at the ceiling and wishing with all your being that you had never unzipped your pants and got out the can opener.

I see you are already referring to her screwed up religion as "The Truth". Geez, that's a bad sign. Others have said it better already, but all I can add is that you have broken the seal on a big can of worms and you will regret it if you completely open the lid. Have a serious talk with your penis and RUN.

Strange but TRUE

ha ha i was laughing just now, had a strange memory.. when stepdad was away and/or when mum was playing the male role of jw head of household she used to cover her head.

anything...a hat, a scarf, tea towel (no lie!!)..

this was i think from the reasoning book or something, but yeh...covering her head out of respect for jehovah.

When I was an elder I remember an older elder (more elderly elder?) who, whenever a problem was brought up in an elders meeting involving a sister would gently shake his head and murmer "ahh, daughters of Eve...daughters of Eve"

Hey, If nothing else is available a pair of panties works in a pinch.

This female paranoia from the Old Testament/Taliban mentality was highlighted when, many years ago, the sisters were allowed to give presentations in the Theocratic Ministry School if it was acted out as though they were talking to another woman (aka, 'stooge") on the platform.

There, there now. Set down and let me get you a nice hot cup of tea. What you are feeling is very normal. I went through these feelings for a long time until I realized that this was allowing them to still contol me in a way. I began to force myself to feel pity for them, like I would feel for someone who had been in an auto accident, got their brain mashed and now they can't quite control their bowels and one eye always looks off to the north. When I run into them I assume a subtle smirk of confidence. This pisses them off worse than anything because most of them ENVY those who have escaped. Pardon the crudity but with these people my attitude is "fuck 'em dead in their ass".

should I disassociate myself or wait to get disfellowshipped?

my closes friend asked me today if her and her husband should just go ahead and write a letter of disassociation or wait to be df.

many months ago i talked with them about 607, etc.

all the things i was finding out.

anyone who has been following my situation may recall that it looks like the elder's are 'closing in' on wifey and i after having been out about two and a half years.

i think they may force a showdown with a registered letter inviting me to the jc.

i don't care if they df me.

I like the cut of your jib!! (whatever that means) Just a couple of suggestions from someone who has been there.

When you think about cornering the JC with a logical presentation of simple, straightforward, Society based evidence, always keep a mental picture of the famous three monkeys, Seeno, Hearno and Speakno. This will help you from being too frustrated. The personal mailings idea is good. Keep it pithy. I would not bother with a newspaper classified ad. However, a small display ad would be good if it appeared in your local papers religion section. I know these can cost a few bucks. Contact me through a PM and I would be willing to contribute towards it. Maybe some others would too.
