  Are you suspicious of LURKERS?

  we all know they're here but we don't really know who they are.. they are people who sign up here and then never comment (or rarely ever do).. doesn't that make any of you regulars here at the very least a tiny bit suspicious?.

  why would a person sign up to a forum like this and then never say a damn thing?

  it seems to me that there is a primary reason why some folks sign up and then never comment on anything: to spy.

  Another reason why I dont post much is because whenever I do post not many people respond to my comments so I think to myself why do I bother !

  Letss. Go back and check the number in the upper right of your threads - "views". I believe you will find that your thoughts are being read by a lot of people. Sometimes a post is so transparently and flawlessly presented that it leaves nothing to add.

  Not that I know anything about it, but sometimes it seems you get more responses by being a provocatuer.

  i really do appreciate all the help you guys have given me in this process.

  but it's time for me to leave.

  it was time for me to leave the wt (at least in my mind) when it became damaging to me.

  The sincerity of your farewell makes me feel strongly that there must be a miscommunication. I have had my rather terse comments here misunderstood, sometimes deliberately, many times. I have taken little ego cool off breaks. It all works out.

  If you really feel that coming here is more negative than positive, then you are smart to stay away. But I would hope you don't burn one of those little ego bridges permanently. We appreciate the diversity of comments you contribute and the opportunity to rag your ass!

  a republican and a democrat were walking down the street when they came across a homeless person.. the republican gave the homeless person his business card and told him come to his business for a job.

  he then took twenty dollars out of his pocket and gave it to the homeless person.. the democrat was very impressed, and when they came to another homeless person, he decided to help.

  he walked over to the homeless person and gave him directions to the welfare office.

  I think lurkers are brave people who are, for the most part, in that phase of breaking out of the cult that is the most critical, getting "Devils Advocate" (lol), viewpoints and solid info.

  As far as lurkers who are trying to ID a poster so they can purge them from the reich, that is of no concern to me as I went out with a brass band almost 30 yrs ago. Posters who have solid firewall avatars and are careful of what they say should have no fear.

  After raising 3 daughters, I am familiar with other kinds of lurkers and I used to square them away pretty well. Except for the fathers of several grandchildren!

  Any lurkers I find in the bushes around my house should know I have one of these-

  from my birds eye view of your fine country next door (in canada), i see that what is happening --- has been happening to your us of a for many eras of government and cannot be blamed on the now president barack obama.

  as i was flipping through some magazines in the check out line today, it dawned on me that the wts could very well save itself.. it claims that the watchtower and awake!

  magazines are the most widely circulated journals in the world.

  so why the hell are they not capitalizing on this popularity by selling advertising space in the magazines?

  in 1995, it was discussed (positively) by everybody, during the week we studied the wt.

  one elder stepped down and was looked down upon.

  A friend sent me a copy of the '95 Watchtower when it hit the mail in '95. It gave me chill bumps. When it became apparent that it was a non event among JWs, I got a clearer picture of the rank and file and it is a source of dissapointment for me. When I was a witness and an enforcer elder that had to apply the current WT teachings, new light, etc. I took the WT very seriously and read and re-read every twitch in the "rule book". They played fast and loose with their interpretations of grounds for divorce, sexual behaviour, etc. in the mid to late '70's and I dealt with it on judicial committees with flesh and blood people.

  The JWs who let the 1914 doctrine change just wash over them are drones and deserve to be led around by the nose ring they have accepted. Fools.

  I observed a long time ago that the strongest, least shakable JWs were the one considered "weak". Want to see someone kidnap their baby from a hospital to avoid a blood transfusion? Look for the irregular meeting attender, non-commenter at the WT study and chronic delinquent publisher.

  So when the WT slips them a big load of dung, as in the examples above, they don't even notice.
