I was an elder and very popular, you know the " in group". Probably more people came to me than any of the others for advice or to rat someone out. It caused a big thing when I left. Not bragging but that is the way it was.

Is the Watchtower Society guilty of this?
by Honesty indoes the watchtower society go beyond what is written in the bible with their doctrines?.
i have doubts that any of the following watchtower doctrinal issues are specifically mentioned as 'do's" or "don'ts" in god's word:.
attire.

Ezra: Yes you do go beyond things written. Think about the dates the society has given and the failures. Think about blood transfusions, Think about personal sexual laws that the society has written, show me them in the bible. Think about the shunning the society encourages, how is that loving your neighbor as yourself. Just to name a few.

Relationship with God
by dozy injust a general question , really.. i'm an active witness who is questioning & researching - unsure of any conclusions yet.
i've spoken to a couple of former apostates who have been reinstated as to why they returned (as i know that very few do) and the summary of their conclusions is given below.
i would appreciate your comments.. ...essentially they had a strong relationship with god and felt that this was the paramount purpose in life.

Welcome. When I stopped praying to Jehovah and started praying to my heavenly Father as Jesus taught I received answers to my prayers and have a relationship with God, been happy for twenty years now.

Dances With Watchtowers - Witnessing to Native Americans
by Clam ini've had a life long fascination with native americans, starting of course as a kid who watched westerns, and then learning of about their true culture and spirituality.
i have often wondered how jws in other countries, particularly the us, would interact with the indigenous people of their country.
do any americans here have any stories about witnessing to native americans?

Back in the 70's we would go onto the tuscarora reservation to preach, some friendly and others scary. This was in NY state.

Am I only encouraging JWs?
by kristyann inwhen i go to this one store, i usually stop into the laundromat next door to it about once a week and pull out all of the awakes and watchtowers.
there used to usually be about 3 or 4 per week.
now, it seems that they are putting more and more in there.

Maybe you will break them financially seeing they're not getting paid for them.
