as you all know, back in december the us bethel families were told of a major downsizing.

the word was, "if you've been thinking of leaving, now is a good time.

" some three months later the pink slips are being given out.

i found the "blood" letter read at the service meeting last week a little laughable, especially the part about getting a good health insuarance policy.

how out of touch can the writers of this letter be?

how does a whole generation of self employed janitors and window washers find good health insurance.

not too long ago, i would have told you that the proper way of spelling shiraz was to leave the "raz" off and replace it with a "t.".

regarding childbearing.

to me it's interesting that the talk given to bethelites asking them to leave for the new downsizing effort contained the phrase: go home and start a family.

that must be a slap in the face to those who stupidly if not sincerely obeyed the misguided direction to refrain from having children because we are so close to the time of the end..

although i haven't personally seen the letter (hopefully i will tomorrow night), it seems clear that this would have a serious effect on the core teachings.

how do you go from listen to us unquestioningly, even when we're wrong we're right and if you think about doubting us you're gonna die to "well, all of what we say is open to interpretation and these are just suggestions?

how do you reconcile things like the blood issue, neutrality, holidays, even dress and grooming to this stance?

like rr, i also had assembly this weekend at the newburgh, ny assembly hall on, get this, unity place.. no lie that is the name of the street.. my friends call it lockstep pl.

what happened to love as the identifying mark of the org?.

anyway the circuit sergeant pointed out that hours are down.

either next monday or the following, word has it that a special announcement is being made after the bethel wt study.

all nbethelites have been summoned to attend.

supposedly something has come up rather quickly and needs to be addressed.. could this be the big news?

not long ago i saw a post to the effect that the writer just doesn't care anymore about the dubs.

i understand perfectly.

i'll go a step further by saying that although i care about the damage caused by the borg to individuals and families, every experience is important and no doubt painful, for me there is something that hits me to the core.. the more important (to me anyway) work that is being done by this board and others like it is to proclaim (sorry about the language) that this group advocates the violent destruction of all except those that get to all the meetings and put in ten hours a month.

for those outside nyc that stands for down under the manhattan bridge overpass.

it's an up and coming area in which the society pulled building permits for 4 twenty story residence buildings with a connecting atrium and underground parking.

the permits were pulled last year about this time (much to the annoyance of the locals) and when inquiries were made of local bethelites the word on the street became "the governing body hasn't decided whether or not to go through with the project.
