I noticed a subtle difference in Topics...it's fascinating!
by Gill ini started reading and joined this forum over a year ago.. to me it was then, and still is a wonderful freedom that i'd never experienced before, having been trapped in dub land my whole life.
i was totally alone with my husband on our thoughts of the wtbts and had no idea so many people felt the same.
mainly i read and discussed things on how 'we' all coped now that we were well into our fades or had already escaped completely.

Ozzie you are by far the best administrator I have met. I hope to meet you soon in person, maybe have a beer or two?

reading Proclaimers book
by MerryMagdalene ina very loyal and loving jw requested that i read the book jehovah's witnesses proclaimers of god's kingdom, sincerely confident that it will lay to rest all my objections and convince me this is indeed god's organization to which i must return right away.. ok, i will read it, but only because it's my mother that asked it of me, and she has tried so hard to be tolerant and understanding of where i am coming from as regards my firm stand in not returning.. i thought i would post my notes along the way in case they would be useful to someone else, and if anyone wants to add their own thoughts and notes i would be grateful.
chapter 1--why should jehovah have witnesses?.
since all references to such in the bible are pre-christian and refer to israelites being witnesses that their god, yhwh, is the god, the one god, the only god, and in a contractual relationship with them.

I like Ac/Dc "gone shootin", Pantera "cemetary gates", Junkyard "simple Man", Alot of 3 doors down, matchbox 20, Kansas "carry on my wayward son" kind of comes at the strangest of times, when I feel down, brings a couple of tears, and then "it is ON again!" I also like motley crue, Jackal, a bunch of country, 70's disco, (reminds me of when I was little), When I was a baby I cried until my Dad bought the eight track of "band on the Run." I really love music, I only hope someday I can learn how to do it too. I tried classes in H.S. and hated it. I think I am addicted to music sometimes even. Is there a support group anywhere for that? I got it bad!

The WTS 's fear of the internet
by greendawn inthey pressured their own followers into not setting up websites to promote the jw religion, they have demonised the internet as if on every webpage there is someone ready to destroy the faith of a jw, and they are monitoring websites that are hostile to them to see if they can find ways to legally close them down.
.
why do they fear the net so much if they have the truth as they like to parrot so often?

Avishai, I just remembered, a picture of my GT is my avatar on philosophyforms.com. I was barred there soon after joining with no warning, they may have deleted all my posts as well, I doubt it though. you may have to dig in the archives though in the dicussion forums. Social Sciences, religon, and philosophy were the topics I post most in. Don't tell them you know me though, The administrators there won't even answer my email requests for mercy, or a reason I can understand. Beware.

Dave,
Is that true about them suing to shut the owner of this down? Are you kidding me? I really had no idea they could or would go that far! I wish I could talk to the owner of this site, and tell him to "rock!" on. I would be honored to defend him in court, on second thought, I would rather see him defend himself and win. That would be justice. I got banned quick twice with no warning, and no reasonable explanation from philosophyforums.com. I am still barred, I can't even get a return email from the administrators! If you are ever out there, tell them I am still alive, and doing fine, thanks for asking. You guys welcomed me here like nowhere else I have been! I cannot come up with a word to describe what that means to me.
