Wow I have not even thought about Christmas, it just seems so alien even now.
Cas, Undecided.
when we first left the dubs, we celebrated x-mas pretty much straight away, but had no decorations or tree, and only gave gifts to each other.
for some reason it just seemed wrong to put up decorations and we continued to celebrate this way for about 5 years.
we decided to put up decorations when it was my daughters 1st x-mas, and have never looked back.
Wow I have not even thought about Christmas, it just seems so alien even now.

Cas of the Gnome loving class.
as a jw i admit to "massaging" my hours nearly every month to keep up with the expected amount.. my brother never put in hir report for nearly 2 years.
i was amazed when i asked the secretary he told me "i allways put a few hours in if people forget" !!!
so my brother was a regular publisher despite not going out on service.. he was one man.
You may remember the one
Ha Ha!!! No only you Ozzie remember that one.
Cas of the much younger class.
is it just me or does it seem as soon as a brother becomes an elder, soon after, he starts his own business?
when i was a jw i remember how brothers were struggling to make ends meet and as soon as they became and elder or ms.....all of a sudden they have money to start their own businesses.
along wth it comes.... new cars, home improvements etc.
I don't think that Elders having business or money is any more disproportionate than any other sector of society.
and I don't think that there is any secret handshakes or funny business going on.
Cas.
BTW the way any one want their windows cleaning for a special discount.
a jewish father was concerned about his son.
the young man was about a year away from his bar mitzvah, but was sorely lacking in his knowledge of the jewish faith.
"father, thank you for sending me to the land of our fathers," the son said.
LOL....
Nice one Avi
a jewish father was concerned about his son.

"father, thank you for sending me to the land of our fathers," the son said.
A Jewish father was concerned about his son.
The young man was about a year away from his Bar Mitzvah, but was sorely lacking in his knowledge of the Jewish faith.
To remedy this, he sent his son to Israel to experience his heritage.
A year later the young man returned home.
"Father, thank you for sending me to the land of our fathers," the son said. "It was wonderful and enlightening; however, I must confess that while in Israel I converted to Christianity."
"Oi vey," replied the father, "what have I done?"
So, in the tradition of the patriarchs, he went to his best friend and sought his advice and solace.
"It is amazing that you should come to me," stated his friend.
"I, too, sent my son to Israel and he returned a Christian."
So in the tradition of the patriarchs, they went to the Rabbi.
"It is amazing that you should come to me," stated the Rabbi.
"I, too, sent my son to Israel and he returned a Christian.
What is happening to our sons?
Brothers, we must take this to the Lord,"
They fell to their knees and began to wail and pour our their hearts to the Almighty.
As they prayed, the clouds above opened and a mighty voice said, "Amazing that you should come to me.
I, too, sent my Son to Israel...."
we were always being told that we must be careful not to "stumble" others.
we were instructed to think about the consciences of others.
was there anything that used to bother your conscience that now doesn't?
Excellent topic Min..
I think most of us suffered real guilt trips,
It is difficult to explain the mind control that the borg has over its followers, but this is an excellent topic to shw people.
Cas, whose conscience bothers him talking to Min the wicked apostate...
i'm just made 10,000 posts ... but what's in a number?.
