My 8 year old Daughter's Pageant

My friend made an interesting observation and wanted me to share, very interesting.
by awildflower inthis is not mine, but my friend e-mailed it to me this morning and i thought it would be great to share........i was thinking about this laying in bed this morning.
have you ever looked at one of those optical illusion pictures such as the one below.
what do you see...a young girl or an old woman?

I have used that picture in some of my class room lectures. It is very effective but I had never thought of it in those terms before. That was brilliant!

I would like to thank my children......
by awildflower in......for being so obedient and cooperative during our lives as jw's.
for getting ready for all of those meetings and doing their best to study before hand and comment.
for volunteering to help the elderly and others with yard work and cooking and babysitting.

Embarrassing Moments on the Platform
by HintOfLime ini was thinking the other day about a potential answer to the frequent party question 'what was your most embarrassing moment?'.
immediately my mind went to my last experience on the theocratic school.
as an aspiring ms, i volunteered at the last minute to give a #4 talk on a particular individual (ignorant of what i was about to get myself into).

Man I have a few. One happen when I was really young and didn't understand why it was funny at the time.
We had intermissions on Sunday back then and the chairman invited the congraegation to enjoy the 5 minute intercourse.
That same brother once conducted most of the Watchtower with his shirt hanging out of his fly.
and lastly the newly appointed PO of my hall said during a service meeting part the following "they were screwed" the CO was there and he knew he was in trouble. He was young and we knew him well but we couldn't help but laugh the CO didn't think it was funny!!!!

The problem I would still have is this: many of the people who have left (some even claiming proudly the apostate badge) still hang on to beliefs that are biblically wrong and worse dangerous i.e. Blood and even shunning. So until I could rid my Friends and family of their teachings I would still be very put off.....
