this is a very strange thing for me to do.

i have been an active witness for over 25 years.

i currently serve as an elder and i conduct the watchtower study.

That you are right about. I discovered things during prep for a public talk 13 years ago that led me where I am today successfully faded out of the Org. But don't revel anything too personal and just don't stress to much we all started right where youare and we all survived many of us former elders MS Bethelites pioneers and soem forme DO's and CO's. Remember the Truth has nothing to fear from the lie but once you know it you can't unknow it.

You sound a lot like me. I had a public talk and while doing research for it on the subject of 1914 and 607 I started to come up with more questions then answers. Shortly after that I began to see all the ways the WBTS went beyond the scriptures and over the next 4 years I found more things I couldn't support.

I had steped down and reduced my meetings and service over those 4 years but then when a this happen http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/child-abuse/77340/1/Meza-Family-Laid-to-Rest-50-attend in the congregation I attended I had to leave for good. Me and my wife were the only people from the congregation who attended the funeral.

I lurked on here and kept a low profile trying to manitain fading status. I have most of my family still in 4 generations but even though my marriage didnt survive the exit I am truly glad to be free from the opressive nature of the WBTS and that my daughter will not be forced to worship one way with no chance to decide for herself. There is more to my story but that is the short version. I am coming back here after my divorce and finally after years don't care who knows I am here.

"True Grit" remake. Review

the remake of true grit by the coen brothers (fargo, o' brother where art thou?, etc.

) was a pleasant surprise.

WTBTS Elder & Ministerial Servant Problems

i attended a recent ministerial servant k m school on the east coast and the main school instructor mentioned among other things (part entitled: 'objective of the km school course') that the total number of ministerial servants is seriously less than it should be.

in times past the ratio of m ss to elders was much more than it is today.. in the u.s. apparently the total number of elders is 88,500+ as opposed to m ss 65,000. the numbers show & numbers don't lie: the society is running out of spiritual men.

the instructor stated that this is a new downward trend that has (in so many words) the society worried.. the next speaker (part entitled: 'why we must be spiritual men') added that in his years as a traveling servant the pool of m ss has always been much, much larger than it is today.

Just as a case study of the problem I was appointed an MS at 21 and ask to be an elder at 28 (turned that down) by 30 I was trying to step down and now (in my early 40's) when I should be one of the next generation of elders for them to wear out I am sucessfully faded. I am proud to say I haven't attended a meeting in over 2 years.

Today is a great day!! I can usually pick up the tune of one of those songs the second I see the title but today for the first time I have no idea what the tune of that song I sung thousands of times is.

I think I am moving on....
