  A first for me today--I voted!

  i'm not into politics and don't put much stock in the government having anything to do with my happiness, but i decided it would be a new experience and why not.. i have to admit it felt good.

  seeing democracy in action was great and as small as my 1 little vote is, it feels empowering to have a say..

  i came across this site a few years ago, i never posted, i read it occasionally, some of the stories were interesting and affirming.

  I also read post for 2 years before my first post and even now I find it hard to post because of my programing and I jsut still have a lot to learn but I have learned so much from the people here (who are BTW great) it always helps to hear other story's

  As I approach my 40's ...

  once i passed 35 and as i approach my 40s i find that i'm really starting to enjoy myself and being true to myself, way more than teenagers even though they would like everybody to think otherwise.

  for example, one of the first things to go into oblivion was being concerned what people think about me.

  it is really easy to shake off unhealthy relationships with people as if they never were instead of toiling and desperately trying to make them work (i'm not talking only about intimate relationships but any).
