Where or what would you be today, if you would have never became a JW?
by JH in.
often i wonder what i would be doing or even where would i be living, if i would have never met the jw's back in the late 80's.. maybe it wouldn't have made any difference, or on the contrary, maybe a huge difference.
the only way to really know would be to go back in time and change what happened and that's impossible.. .

The faithlessness here
by grissom6471 init is a shame that people are here portraying themselves as jehovah's witness as having some knowlege or going to meetings.
what exists here is a complete lack of faith in anything.
and a great amount of stupidity.

For the benefit of everyone here.
[email protected] Yes, email me please. That seems the only way to at least get some faith to some people here.

What does any of the dates of the kings have to do with
being one of Jehovah's Witnesses?Lady Liberty, you keep saying "Where does the Bible say that"? as if
the bible came right out and said it the way you wanted, you would comply?
I don't think so. You just use that for excuses.
Being one of Jehovah's Witnesses is not about facts and figures and
dates and such. It is about being united in worship of the
only true God.It seems that only people here can call names.
What really is stupid is that people use these forums and
they don't work. The messages do not quote and the
replies do not post. And some say that I don't know what I am talking about.
Hello.
I have many talks from various people in the organization from
the governing body to other Bethel speakers and assemblies and
district and circuit overseers. That is what Jehovah's Witnesses
are about. Not - the Watchtower said this in 1920's or this Rutherford
book said that, or this elder said or did this or the UN thing. All this anti-watchtower stuff is nothing to do with Jehovah's Witnesses or being one of
Jehovah's Witnesses. That is not what is taught. You are like looking at Tom DeLaay and his charges and concluding that
is what America is about. Noooo. The USA is about the constitution
and what people do, even the government and police, do not change that. -

I find this JW behaviour disrespectful
by Bumble Bee inon saturday i was at a cousin's wedding.
neither bride or groom was jw, although her mother (my aunt) was jw but was df'd for smoking way back in the early '70's and i doubt the bride (my cousin) remembers anything anymore.. her older brother said a prayer before the dinner.
it was a very beautiful prayer imho, and maybe he remembers a bit more of the jw experience, it started and ended like what you'd hear in a kh, but the middle was actually said from the heart and filled with love for the new couple and our family and the friends present.. i bowed my head and said amen afterwards.

Scully,
If you are an atheist, what are you doing here? This
is a site for Jehovah's Witnesses, not faithless ones.

Do You Think "Apostates" Are All A Bunch of Whiners?
by minimus inevery so often, you'll see a jw come onto these sites and bash us because we're only looking at the negatives regarding the witnesses.
i don't think we are unfair at all.
at least we speak the "truth".

Yes, apostates are whiners and No you do not speak the truth.

Well, don't complain to the people here about it. This is the wrong crowd. Talk to that specific individual and deal with it rather than gossip on here.

Who's to say Jesus has "approved" the FDS and "appointed them..."
by Theocrat in"...over his belongings" ???.
i think the entire system of witness beliefs hinge on this issue: is the governing body the mouthpiece that jehovah is using to lead faithful ones on earth?.
it seems jw's just assume that jesus did inspect them and did appoint them over his belongings.

Whose to say? Me. I say that the governing body is the elders of the congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. The term "Faithful and discreet slave" has been bandied about so much by the right and the left that it has become a cliche. It does not matter. The governing body is the overseers of the worldwide congregation and its support staff. They do not need to be appointed by Jesus for people to be obedient to them because Heb 13:7,17 says to do so because they are the ones taking the lead among us.

And a great amount of stupidity. The statements of "I'm a former Witness and people don't talk to me". Well Duh!!!. Why would anyone want to. Can all people do here is complain? No one has any backbone anyway. Stop complaining and do something to increase your faith and appreciation for God's word and his people on earth. This group will not do that.

Misantropic, It is sad that there are so many faithless people here. But the meetings are for our good. Sure it is difficult, but what alternative is there? Another Duh.

Really serious question!
by 5thGeneration indrifting away is one thing.
i'm curious if anyone has written a letter (not a disassociation letter) that simply told their friends and loved ones that you don't really believe a lot of it anymore and blah, blah, blah.. or is it better to shut up and just never show up again.. problem is my wife says if i want to leave that i have to fess up and tell people.
ouch!.

What is there not to believe? And when you do not believe what is taught, what do you have that is better? Come on, the faithlessness here. It is disgusting.
