  again it ran in the sunday edition - i hope that a few people might be 'forewarned' and thus 'forearmed' against the jw religion.

  perhaps a jw or two will read it also- here was the letter:.

  to the editor; on october 25 the british press was awash with the story of young emma gough from tellford, uk.

  what happened to jwmatch.com?

  like 2 weeks ago i opted for a paid membership on jwmatch.com to contact a few dubs and point them to websites like this one.

  now i haven't been able to access jwmatch.com for more than a week though.

  does anyone know what happened?

  Another Take On the New WT Format

  when i first heard about the change to a members only wt, i was beyond furious.

  i had gone back and forth as to whether i used to belong to a cult.

  the gb continues to isolate in their own unique way all of their flock.

  I suppose the "internal" Watchtower could be useful to insidiously put new light out, but it could also be used as an outlet for the less palatable and whackier aspects of being a JW, eg blood, avoiding worldly celebrations, no competitive sports, no masturbating, no clinking glasses in celebration, why shunning is great and possibly why coffee is not for christians (surely decaff would be ok?).

  This gives any potential convert the chance to read bible doctrine and the mainstream stuff, but not be exposed early on to all the loony stuff.

  I have to agree with some other posters here though, this is primarily a profit increasing exercise.

  this was the book we studied when i went to prison in 1967 at seagovilled federal correctional facility near dallas.. the babylon book, we called it.. it is where i first encountered fred franz's mania for specificity.

  franz was the lone ranger prophetic mouthpiece for jw's for a long time and pounded out on his typewriter an amazing array of weird books.

  but, the babylon book had it all.

  Yeah remember that book well, along with of course The Truth That Leads to Eternal Life. I loved that little book, imagining that one day I'd be waving it in the Great Crowd, in the aftermath of Armageddon, rather like the Chinese used to wave their little red books at Mao.

  i was wondering if this was being taught in the congregations.

  my sister who is still a jw told me this the other day when i said that the wtbts has only been around for a short time, relatively speaking.. my mother, who hasn't been to a meeting in years, agrees with her.

  what is being taught now with regards to this, does anyone know?

  so, the elder that dfed me, was driving by my house with a carload of sheep yesterday.

  as he was driving by, he pointed at my house.

  what he didnt know, was that my bf was also on the road, waiting for him to pass so he could pull in the driveway.. when the elder looked up, and recognized my bf, he dropped his hand really fast, but knew he was caught.. so, now i sit and wonder, what the hell was he saying to the herd?

  That would have really pissed me off Buttlight. It's hard to put any positive spin on it isn't it?

  eg " Over there is Buttlight's house. I had to DF her because I had little choice, but as a sincere and compassionate christian I pray almost daily that she'll come back to Jehovah's people."
