Really dont know why you are on the fence venting, as clearly you can see how wrong the religion is. I was shunned yesterday by an elders wife, even though I have just faded because I disagreed with some of their doctrines.

by The Searcher ini was disappointed to find that there is not a page on wikipedia dedicated to candace conti.. in view of the massive import of the case, and the expected lies/deceptions/minimal info being prepared by the org as "damage limitation" - should they lose the appeal - couldn't someone with the know-how compile a wiki page for the benefit of witnesses to view as a truthful and authoritative source of facts and information?.

I know what you mean, but you must remember that although this is a big thing in the JW world it is not big news for most people on a worldwide scale.
99% of the world could not care less about JWs and anything that goes on around them.

Why on earth would you think that Watchtower want to lose members? They are simply amateurs when it comes to this type of thing. The individual witnesses are so conditioned that Jehovah will save them, that they went to the kingdom Hall.
No question the video is to impress other witnesses around the world, and is real propagander.

The joke is that most of the decisions I'm sure are taken by other witnesses. It is a massive worldwide organisation with many different committees so the vast majority of changes or decisions are taken by others, most of whom do not even claim to be of the anointed.

Assemblies - what is the current structure/number
by insearchoftruth inlooking for a bit of background on the assembly structure, realizing it may be a bit different this year due to the 100 year stuff.. in a typical calendar year, how many assemblies do the jws have (outside of the normal meeting structure), what are they called and what is the duration?.

Whoops just a correction to my above post. There will two one day assemblies starting in 2015 and these will both be called circuit assemblies. The three day convention will be called regional asembly or convention.

I believe they will now have two one day regional assemblies a year and one three day district assembly.
The downsizing continues.

Troubling experience at 1 day assembly re: little jw child
by williamhconley injust had my 1day assembly this weekend.
an experience given by the bethel speaker was quite troubling and shows how jw's live in constant paranoia, anxiety and they isolate themselves from normal living.. a first grade class was having a fire drill.
everyone ( except one) lined up and stood outside away fron the classroom in the grass.

This is so typical of witnesses. Fancy clapping in that situation when there could have been a real fire. Instead he should have been given a good talking to by his parents. He needs to obey his teachers and authority figures, and if in doubt talk to parents later about a particular situation
