To be appointed by holy spirit simply means you satisfy the qualifications that the apostle Paul spoke about. All that happened is the C O decided you did not fully meet that standard yet. Nothing to do with God.
And yes as Divergent said it is a blessing in disguise. Once you are appointed you will have little time for yourself and will have little chance of checking the bible to see if you really are a part of the true religion.
pure speculation here but i'm wondering if - with the numbers flat-lining - that the gb will stop giving country by country stats, or perhaps at least some of the statistics.. we used to get a monthly stat in the km - then that was "simplified" to "highlights".
only the "good" stuff.
then with the new clam workbook, no stats at all.. i wonder if the yearbook will soon only contain "positive" spun stats.
When I was a JW years ago they used to have a report every month on how the local congregation was doing. Also as was mentioned the countries report was published in the Kingdom Ministry. Then just the highlights. All that has gone now because it made such depressing reading for JWs. So yes they will have to stop publishing any figures that are consistently bad year after year in the yearbook. They certainly must be well pissed off with the partakers figures going up every year when according to them they should be going down. So probably they will eventually say there is no point in publishing that figure as it is meaningless as many who partake are probably mentally challenged JWs lol
i'm curious if we will have eyewitness reporters at the stanley theater like we do every year....
Well I would say it is the first chance we get to hear of major changes in the orgs future plans and proposed changes. Many big changes have come from the annual meeting first in past years

as all witnesses know, the opening gambit of the great tribulation will occur when the united nations turns on organized religion to devastate them and leave them naked of people and resources.
however, as jehovah's judgement day has been spoken of as being "imminent", the question that can be fairly asked ... 'is the united nations organization actually in a position to act as god's destroyer of false religion?
while i have no doubt that most within that organization had in the past tried to make the lives of the desperate better, the united nations has unfortunately now become a weak and underfunded political eunuch.
I was actually having the same thoughts myself. The U N is a long way from the a scarlet coloured wild beat that turns on religion. They have very little power now on the world scene, and there often are news reports stating that the UN seems unable to do anything about one conflict or another. Certainly no sign at all of it having any power or intention to turn on world religion.

update: so, after the meeting i had with elders a few weeks ago as outlined in my original thread, they met as a body and once again called to tell me that after considering my case they still thought a judicial committee should be held against me and asked to be there "thursday at 7:30".

i saw a group of jws gathered in the town car park yesterday.
they seemed startled when they recognised my car and talked amongst themselves giving one another a satisfied grin!
Well of course you could do that, but you have now certainly done the right thing. As someone who as far as they are concerned has been kicked out of the cong for whatever reason you will be shunned and ignored by everyone. They have no love for you at all, because they have been told not to have.

Good to hear that the authorities intervened. Considering that two thirds of JWs leave the faith sometime in their adulthood, it was the correct thing to do. The poor child would have no say in the matter at that age.
