They really want JWs to believe that only their organisation cares for people during disasters. Complete propaganda to keep them in this cult

OMG! The JWs have hijacked the internet!
by Wild_Thing infound this awesome website where you can type two things in and compare anything in a nice neat little chart.
so, just for kicks, i typed in jehovah's witnesses vs. mormonism ... and look!
who the hell gave them the information for jws???

I thought this must be from a current witness, then noticed they said their founder was Charles Taze Russell. A genuine current JW would not say that

Major Doctrinal Changes Must Be On The Way
by notsurewheretogo inthe statement in the article "who is leading gods people today?
" in the feb 17th study edition of the wt is very interesting.. it states: ""the g.b.
is neither inspired nor infallible" ..we can err .in doctrinal matters....".
-
alanv
It is not the first time this has been said. They regularly tell the sheep that the governing body are God's reps and should be obeyed. But to cover themselves, every now and and again they say that they are not inspired or infallible.
So just same old, same old as far as I am concerned.

Some recent baptism figures in the UK - is there a "bounce back"?
by freddo inwell, round my way (south of the uk) all the way up to and including the regional conventions this summer, baptism numbers have been extremely low.
but i have just received news of three recent circuit assembly days where the figures seem to be higher.
(all have been across the last three weekends at a uk assembly hall in october).
-
alanv
We need to remember that it is not baptism figures that are important, but rather average publisher figures. After all if 100 got baptised in one circuit in one year, but 100 publishers left the org, the figure would be 0% increase.

Take My Silver and My Gold..
by snugglebunny inno, these are not new lyrics.
they are the original lyrics as to be found in the 1950 songbook: "songs to jehovah's praise".
the song is simply called "dedication".. the words may have been altered in recent years, but the "new" words are simply the old words being re-hashed.. we can't make a meal of this as some are doing.. just saying, that's all..

So if the words were got rid of, why have they now brought them back?

Ridiculous ways you kept your "time going" in service?
by HereIgo ini used to go out early mornings with 2 pioneer elders, we would drive 20 miles out of the territory (a big no-no) to look for hikers to preach to lol of course there were never any hikers.
then off to starbucks for another hour lol easy way to count 2-4 hours.
i am chuckling as i write this, what a joke!.
-
alanv
Makes you wander how the org can say they spent 2 billion hours in preaching, when they must know that so much of the time was just spent counting time with nothing at all productive. Not to mention most witnesses work in twos, so time spent is actually 1 billion hours

Did your congregation rehearse service meeting parts?
by compound complex ini was just thinking back to some parts i conducted.
when other publishers were involved in the part, its success often depended on how well rehearsed the participants were.
timing, proper interplay of dialogue, dramatic impact, etc.. as the one giving the part or as one drafted to do a demo, did your elders require rehearsals?.
-
alanv
I found most people enjoyed giving the demos, and it was often what they had done before on the doors, so no real rehersel was necessary

Who REALLY appoints elders and MS??
by HereIgo ini was 19 and being considered for ms. i went out of town to see my jw girlfriend during co visit and he was so butthurt he decided i wasn't ready!.
i thought jehovah decided?.
go figure.

To be appointed by holy spirit simply means you satisfy the qualifications that the apostle Paul spoke about. All that happened is the C O decided you did not fully meet that standard yet. Nothing to do with God.
And yes as Divergent said it is a blessing in disguise. Once you are appointed you will have little time for yourself and will have little chance of checking the bible to see if you really are a part of the true religion.
