How many JW`s have been infected with Covid19 in the USA ,How many have died ?

due to the high number of people that have been infected in the usa ,particulary in ny / ny state and elsewhere and the amount of deaths that have occured there ,i just wonder how many jw`s have been struck down by this virus ?.

So they certainly havent had any protection by their god. They are just as at risk as anybody else.

Two kingdom halls up for sale in our area

driving by a kh yesterday we saw a for sale sign in front of the building.

it's on a beautiful piece of property off a main road outside the city limits.

the building can be no more than 10 years old and is very beautiful.

They may be selling off loads of Kingdom Halls, but Im sure they will building new ones as well. They have to, its the only way they can get money in, now that donations are drying up. So they sell off halls to make money, then build some more somewhere else with free labour.

video conferencing systems are being installed in kingdumb halls.

this is being charged to the congregations.. the ability to video conference, zoom, directly from the halls will now be the thing.. i believe that the current situation has given the wts an idea.. if there are two kingdom halls in an area, then one can be sold.. congregations will split the use, half using the hall one week and zooming the next and visa versa..

Whatever happens they have to be able to sell kingdom halls, but also need to get the sheep to build new ones with free labour. Only that way can they keep the money coming in

Has anyone seen the letter that is propsing this. Would be interesting to read it. Is it just for USA or for other countries too?

that in the netherlands, 440 jw's have covid-19 and 11 jw's have died.. g. .

Zoom meetings to continue thru July

co is coming and expecting to zoom it in july.

also there is no talk about starting to slowly go back to the hall.

like having 1 group at the hall and the rest on zoom, etc.

Yes that could be a good result for Watchtower. They dont want to get rid of Kingdom Halls, because they need to sell Kingdom Halls every so often to make money, as donations are not enough to keep the org going. By attending the hall just once a week they still can do that, and the mid week meeting can be streamed around the world, giving the governing body and even stronger hold of the JW members

A discovery concerning 1975 as I am going through old Watchtower literature

i think everyone has heard about the video at the convention a few years back where an older ‘brother’ relates that “some were selling their homes” pre 1975, and it makes it look like the rank and file are stupid.

it shifts the blame to the r&f.

no mention of the km that advocated it.. and you have all seen the km that said it, and that it was the may 1974 km.. however, it was not.

I was privy to an irate phone witnessing conversation

i happened to be privy to a phone witnessing conversation that my aged father was conducting, the person on the other end just climbed into him.

he got real nasty and my father ended up hanging up on him.

i could see that my father was distressed about it, but or course put it down to satan and persecution.

I must admit Im the same when i get a call trying to get me to buy or join something. If I wanted I will get it myself, i dont need people trying to persuade me that what their offering is the best.

My son is a JW elder, and has not phoned me once during the crisis, even though i am nearly 70 years old. Same as always he is quite ok talking to me when i phone him, but he only phones me when he wants something.

Watchtower were very slow to embrace the internet. So probably while other businesses were arranging togoing online, Watchtower were busy warning their members about the dangers of the internet. They would have had no idea that Watchtower online would take over most of their printing.
