The Final Remark from a JW after 1200 Emails

You do realize he was probably counting field service time while emailing you.
The advice the WT give is, if you are not getting through after a reasonable length of time you should just leave it in the hope that the person concerned will come to their senses.
That is good advice for us too I guess. If they keep changing the subject and go round in circles it is best to leave it till they work it out for themselves. Not always easy but the right thing to do.

JWs and piracy (digital kind)
by teel ini'd like to hear of other people's experience regarding the jws inclination to pirating software, music, films.. this of course is relative to your country.
because i live in a relatively poor country, the rate of piracy is extremely high, individuals practically never buy software, music and films are bought now and then.
this of course is against the law here too.. so what do jws do?

At the risk of sounding pompous I would say however poor you are JWs should not be piroting software. They have set themselves up as having higher standards than everyone else and what they are in fact doing is stealing.
In UK that is what it is called, and I'm sorry but if they can afford computers then they should be paying for the sofftware that goes with it.
The bible very clearly says that you should practice what you preach and that you can be disfellowshipped for stealing.
Very interesting about the different QFR article. I'm sure you are right the society do not want to make an issue of it.
Incidently teel I would be interested to know where you come from. Thanks for posting.

The conference calls are put out every two weeks from USA and can go on for several hours. The recordings can be played back normally during the following week,, from the site Six screens of the Watchtower site..
Although there is practically no growth at all in Europe, unfortunately that is not true of the rest of the world. For some reaso the USA had around 4% growth , the highest for some time.

It's always good to see any negative news about the witnesses but as soon as one bit of the info. is wrong (as was the case here) JWs will simply reject the whole thing.
Just a bit more persecution from Satan as far as they are concerned.

Terry I used to be convinced that God helped me stand up and give a talk at the Kindom Hall or conduct book study meetings in peoples home but it was all rubbish. I realize I could do that now without any help if I really wanted to. It all depends how determined you are.

ill try to be brief, prob could do a whole topic on each point.. i was born a jw, one of 7 kids.
my mum ruled house with iron fist (whole story just there) we were the perfect jw family, never missed fs or meetings all baptised at magic age of 14, all pioneered.

Welcome God chick I and some other ex witnesses are on the Friends Reunited site and boy do they hate us saying anything against the org.
They seem totally unable to have an inteligent conversation like most people are able to do.
You won't find that on here. It is full of great people.

There are certainly advantages to you if you simply fade. It means you are not barred from speaking to other JWs which may include family members. Some will ignore you anyway as they do me but at least you don't get the stone wall all the time.

Just to clarify a bit further. If a baptised witness takes a complete blood transfusion, they are actually disfellowshipping themselves.
Remember when a witness gets baptised these days they have to agree to abide by all the distinct doctrines of the society.
So the elders would argue, because you have taken blood knowingly you have gone against your own baptism vow, therefor you are telling the world you no longer want to be known as one of Jehovah's Witnesses.
It kinda makes sense in JW land.
