I think the eternal father is nothing to argue about. Once a person becomes a father, he is that until is dying day. So Jesus therefor is an eternal father as he is now living for ever.

As a JW how would you answer this if someone brought it up in the ministry?
by NikL inas a jw i pretty much just went along with what was taught from the platform i didn't do any real bible study.
as a result, now that i am out of the org.
i find scriptures that blow my mind.. i am not sure how i would have reacted if someone had pointed this out to me when i was a jw but now i can't believe i've never noticed this before.

Free to sin but still cannot bring myself to do it
by sinboi inhave da'd myself nearly 3 months ago.
now i am part of this world but i feel myself the odd one out.
something inside me is still blocking me to do the things i have been longing to do while i was still a jw, such as attending birthday parties, sex, etc.... just last nite, i was on the way to attend a birthday party.

Its not easy when you first get free of the cult. I too was under their control for many years. Its a matter of taking one step at a time. Personally even now after being out for 20 years I dont show much interest in birthdays and none in xmas. But that is more to do with how i always felt abut them. The difference is I avoid some things now because I want to, not because an Organisation has told me. However if you actually like the idea of those celebrations, just choose carefully the ones you would like to attend. Make sure they are not with people who like going over the top, and then I am sure you will have a great time. Good luck to you, and well done for getting out of the cult. You wont regret it.

Carts in Florence/pisa
by Phoebe ini have just had a holiday.
i don't get many so this was special.
i went to italy.

I have also seen them in many countries by their carts. Everyone simply walks by, showing no interest at all. Some of them will know a bit about the witnesses with all the media coverage and youtube videos available. Others just have better things to do than read their trash.

"special" anti cart campaign!!
by nowwhat? ingo up to cart witnesses and ask what their organization is doing to aid hurricane victims.
and when they say they look to gods kingdom for the solution.
say your solution is for god kill 99.9 % of humans!

Generally these days they dont discuss a lot on the street, they just say go to jwdotorg. All will be explained there. However on the doors it is a lot easier to get them to answer questions, as there is no one else looking on, as there is in the cart witnessing. So yes they are good questions to ask a JW on the doors.

August 31, 2017 BOE Re: Procedure for Handling Certain Cases of Wrongdoing

Yes I think you are right Anders. These people are valuable to the org, so they want to do all they can to hang on to them. Why else would they want elders from Bethel to investigate the cases? Although it seems pretty weird to say bethel elders could sort it, when Bethel could be hundreds of miles away. Maybe its now Judicial enquiries using skype.

Cart witnessing in the quietest in my suburb.
by fulltimestudent ini walked to the station yesterday to meet a friend, and on the way, in what must be the quietest street in the entire suburb, were two j.witnesses and their little cart, all set with a literature display.
i wondered what point there may have been to choose that location.
i felt like grabbing one of their bibles and reading matthew 5:15 to them:.

I often see the JWs with their carts here in the uk. But I have never actually seen any one taking literature or speaking to the witnesses. Last year in the UK the increase in publishers was just 26, so clearly the carts are a complete waste of time and money. Cant wait to see this years figures!

Over 300 DFed apparently went to a northern U.K R.C!
by Isambard Crater inthat's what i've been told by a family member (elder) who went to one of the regional conventions in the north of the u.k lately, who told me the 300 or more disfellowshipped who returned to jehovah by attending show that the end is so close, just like the final talk says..

The only time the Watchtower has spoken about how many are reinstated, the figure has been one third of all who have been disfellowshipped or disassociated.

The WatchTower conductor lied on stage
by Isambard Crater inon sunday morning in the watchtower study, a "study" who was their for the 1st time put his hand up and said; "i have a question.
when the paragraph says give up everything, it doesn't really mean give up everything like the pearl merchant, does it, like be willing to lose my modest house, cheap car and other basics i own?
i mean, that sounds a bit much".. the watchtower conductor said in response; "no, it's just a parable and it doesn't mean give up everything.

Depends what the Watchtower actually said. If you can post the link or paste the paragraph on here we can give a view on it.

I think one of the benefits of being a man in the org, was the responsibilities we were given. I used to enjoy being in charge of a book study group, looking after the literature and giving talks. So there was no way I would fall asleep at the meetings if i was to keep all that.
