Wow I never knew there were so many instances of 40 in the bible. Certainly not a coincidence.

Why did Jesus piddle around for 40 days in the wilderness?
by nowwhat? inafter all he only had 3 and half years to perform his ministry so every day counted.
instead of witnessing to satan couldn't he have made better use of his time reaching as many people as possible?
just using some jdub reasoning on the matter..

Modern Medical Science Heals Blindness Better than Jesus
by fulltimestudent ini posted some time back that i was having vision difficulties.
at sydney eye hospital it was determined that i had no other serious eye problems except a growing cataract.. i was referred to another hospital for a removal of the natural lens in my left eye and its replacement by an artificial lens,.
had that operation a week ago - no problems except my iris did not expand enough to permit the lens procedure, so they had to use hooks to expand it, turning a less than 30 minute operation into a 90 minute procedure.. all very professional and first class treatment.

I have cataracts in both eyes. Not severe at the moment, but will need to be done in next two years. Totally amazing results from people I have spoken to about it. Modern science can do so much now. Its not surprising that in the UK, however much money we put into the National Health Service there will never be enough to keep pace with all the advancement in medical procedures.

update
by Akid48 inoh buy this is going to be long.i'll be lucky if most of you still remember me its been a really long time since i've posted.
so im 15 now makes me happy because im getting so close to being able to work and being able to make my own money and save it.i've had talks with my family i havent said flat out that i dont care or like this but they have figured out that i dont agree with it,who knows whats that means for the future but i know its most likely going to be something bad.the way i've dealt with this hole shit hole is that i just dont let it get to me.i told myself im not going to let this hole thing ruin my childhood and my chance to make memories and to do things that normal kids can do,and the year i said that is the year ive made so many storys about dumb and fun things i did and that year made me feel like a normal kid and made me feel like nothing was wrong and maybe my life isn't that bad.i know its not smart i know i'll be in big trouble if my aunt or anybody that jw found out about what i was doing could go very wrong, but at this point i dont care even if thats dumb im just not going to let this ruin my time to have fun and be active before i become a adult, alot of stuff went on i mean i diged my own hole have my own girlfriend big red flag to them i have all worldly friends big red flag to them when most of its just me being normal but those two would put me into deep shit.. i know that the hole double life thing is bad to jw's but if any other teenager or kid is on this website i just want to say dont be scared to live a double life, dont be its brought more happiness than i've ever had in years its brought more motivation in my life than anything.its like having the life you should've had yes its hard to get through the loops of dealing with jw's but all the work is worth it.the so called double life is a normal life that you should live so dont feel bad and live the life you should be living.. but im happy to be posting again that first part is my update and the second one is for any kid that is looking around here,i hope you guys are doing good and i hope everybody is fine its good to be back!.

I wish i'd been strong enough to question what i was told when i was a JW teen. It took me two decades to get up the courage to check the JWs out. So glad I did, I really enjoy my life now, with friends I can disagree with sometimes, but still be close. Hope all goes well for you, I'm sure it will though.

It truly was an amazing match. Was only one day which made it more exciting. Certainly wouldnt call New Zealand losers, just runners up. The rules were in place, and both teams knew what would happen if their was a tie at the end, as in fact there was. It was a great day for cricket worldwide.

1914 Prophecy
by Acer21 ini am having trouble locating what is the 1914 prophecy?
jw.org states that the jw's accurately predicted the events of 1914, but do not indicate what the predictions were, or the specific fulfillments.
what do jw's think they are (predictions/fulfillments)?
-

They were wrong about all of it accept where they said there would be a time of trouble in 1914. The main thrust of their message then was that the world would be destroyed by God for people being so wicked.

Are Witnesses advised not to get into discussion’s about evolution with HH?
by Diogenesister injust before the last memorial, i finally had a witness call with an invite ( i say finally because i haven’t seen anyone in the d 2 d preaching work for going on 5 years!)..
i wasn’t particularly prepared ( it being early and me still in my nightie!
) but i managed to collect myself and said i didn’t think i wanted to go since i discovered the scandal around the un.....and i outlined the facts.. jw: oh no i don’t think so, where on earth did you read that?.

There is very little reasoning with JWs now days. If you dont show an attitude of accepting what they tell you without question, then they will be off.

U.K. Judge rules five year old JW (not baptized) can get blood transfusion
by Tenacious ingirl, 5, from jehovah's witness family can have blood transfusion, judge says.
by michael black.
a high court judge has ruled that doctors can give a sick five-year-old girl from a jehovah’s witness family a blood transfusion.. the little girl’s parents said their religious beliefs would not allow them to consent to a blood transfusion.. but they said they would not object to a judge making the decision.. mr justice hayden was told that the little girl was in a “grave” situation and could die or suffer a stroke if she did not have a transfusion.. the judge analysed evidence at a public hearing in the family division of the high court (pictured) in london on wednesday after hospital bosses asked him to make a decision as a matter of urgency.. he said bosses at the leeds teaching hospitals nhs trust had responsibility for the girl’s care and had made the application.. he said the girl was being treated at leeds children’s hospital.. the judge heard evidence via a telephone link to the hospital.. a specialist told mr justice hayden that the little girl was suffering from sickle cell disease, an inherited blood disorder, and that her condition had deteriorated.. .

Unfortunately by beig in a cult, the parents had to abide by Watchtower rules. They must have been so happy when the judge allowed the transfusion, even though they couldnt show their joy to fellow witnesses. -

Do You Have A Negative Outlook Because You Were Once A JW?
by minimus init could be argued that exjws have issues in life simply because they were jehovah’s witnesses at a point in their lives.
.
do you think you or we are fairly normal considering we were jehovah’s witnesses or do you think we have a lot of baggage because we are a bit messed up ( even if we don’t even know it)?.
-
alanv
In my case it has had the opposite affect. When I was a JW I always looked for all the negative things that were going on in the earth, but now I look at all the great improvements, and stories of people doing wonderful and amazing things to help each other. I am very positive about the future

The 1935 date has now gone from Watchtower doctrine. It was scrapped 12 years ago
Watchtower 2007 5/1 pp30,31
Some Christians baptized after 1935 have had witness borne to them that they have the heavenly hope. (Romans 8:16, 17) Thus, it appears that we cannot set a specific date for when the calling of Christians to the heavenly hope ends.
