Funny, a Mormon and Moonie just said the same thing. Must be reading the same literature!

i'm out of the way of my old crowd so i haven't run into any for a year and have sometimes worried that i'd lose the plot.
i was lucky in that i spotted sister spanish teacher before she saw me and so i was able to take evasive action.

SPECIFICALLY: Why Did They Quit Using The Pink Song Book?
by whyizit ini recently aquired an old pink wt song book (copyright 1966).
i remember reading that the wts went to a tan one and destroyed most of the pink ones, because the pink ones had too many of the old beliefs within it.
does anyone know specifically which songs went along with the old beliefs, how the belief was changed, and when?

I just wondered which of the songs were in conflict with current beliefs. Without having to read through every single one of them, and not really knowing what some of the former beliefs were. It could be minor observances. I just wanted to take note of them.

Share your most embarassing moments
by DigitalFokus inyou have to be able to laugh at yourself sometimes.... here is one of my most embarassing moments.. i was in 7th grade and also the new kid in school.
this happened during one of our first big test's, i think it was my english glass but i am not sure.. i had bad gas for some reason that day and had been holding it in instead of "dusting the crops" in the hallways (which is a great way to shed your gas without having to claim it).
i am sitting in class trying to concentrate on the test while holding in my deadly gas with all the strength my buttcheeks could muster.

I was PAINFULLY shy when I was 13 yrs. old. I would have faded into the wall-paper to keep from having any attention focused on me. Most of my classmates would joke that they didn't even think I knew how to talk.
I'm sitting in study hall--dead silence--and I could feel a giant sneeze coming on. I tried everything to keep from sneezing, but the more I tried to hold it back, the stronger the force to let it out became. So, I sneezed a hugely loud sneeze, and FARTED at the same time, loud!!!! I literally thought I would die. Everyone was laughing, including the normally stone-faced teacher. My face was red for two weeks!

Never throw away those Watchtowers and Awakes!
by free2beme init is a sin to throw away your watchtowers and awakes.
you must let them build up and up and up, until you need to store them in boxes that will be places in corners of the attic or basement.
when you find them years later, still do not throw them away or you will die at armageddon!

If any of you have extras of the What Does God Require?, The Trinty publication, and/or Does Blood Save Lives?--and you are thinking about tossing them in the trash, I hope you will PM me and let me have a crack at getting them! I could use them to help some of my friends who are trying to get family out of the WTS. Getting familiar with these and knowing where and when to ask questions is a great help! And that little Knowledge book is a handy one too. Before you throw away any of these, please consider ME! I would be using them for the greater good!

Most of the general population has no idea about the JW blood rule!!!
by whyizit innearly everyone i know has had a jw at their door.
they know that they don't celebrate holidays or birthdays.
they know they don't salute the flag.

Nearly everyone I know has had a JW at their door. They know that they don't celebrate holidays or birthdays. They know they don't salute the flag. They know they where dresses and suits and take their polished-up little kids door-to-door with them. In fact, that is the biggest complaint I've heard from most people. They know how cruel some are and they think it is awful that the JWs will subject their little children to getting the door slammed in their face, or getting sent off the property in a rather short and mean-spirited fashion. Not to mention, you just don't know what kind of unstable person you are exposing these children to. Some of these strangers, are STRANGER than most!
But hardly anyone knows about the blood rule. And most that I have been in contact with who DO know they won't accept blood transfusions, do NOT know that IF THEY DO, they will be dealt with harshly. They think that it is merely a matter of personal choice. They know absolutely nothing about the Liason Committee or the pressure and coercion to comply. They have NO IDEA!!! They especially have never had the thought cross their minds; that a minor child could be left to die, for need of a simple blood transfusion.
THAT IS WHY:
It is very important for SHUNNED FATHER's case to continue in court. I've looked up many references to his case and he is on the up-and-up. Even Randy Watters has pledged $100 and is challenging others to do the same. You can bet the WTS is counting on him not being able to raise the funds to continue, and they are sweating it, because it is a highly publicized case. They are counting on him running out of funds and no one stepping up to help him.
I'm going to match Randy Watters $100, today. I'm going to the post office and getting it sent before the day is up. This is a legitimate opportunity to change things for the better. Think how many children's lives could be saved! Think how many people will be educated about this blood rule! Especially since it is of interest to the media. Just imagine how many people out there who think it is terrible for a little kid to get the door slammed in their face, will take notice of THIS manner of cruelty and danger to a child!
Can you imagine that your spouse and their religious belief cost your child their life, and YOU were left powerless to do anything about it? And now, when you have worked so hard and have come so far to try to prevent it from happening to anyone else, the very people who have been your biggest emotional support, won't help you a little financially? All of the sudden they think you are a con-artist with a get-rich-quick scheme?
The guy is easy to find. He's been on this site repeatedly. His story is in the media. He needs help. And we need him to continue, for the sake of children who are in serious danger. Please consider donating to his cause.

CLARIFICATIONS ABOUT LAWSIUT
by SHUNNED FATHER infor those who do not know, there is an article in forbes magazine about my lawsuit.
i wish to take the time to thank everyone who have helped me in the past and who are helping me now.
i will try to clear up a few things.. the watchtower lawyers who live and work at the wts hq are defendants.

Okay! Randy Watters is supporting Mr. Hughes. I'm sure he is well aware of the specifics. As well as the type of person Mr. Hughes is. If he is willing to step up to the plate, then the guy must be legitimate!
I'm going to put my money where my mouth is. I already sent one small donation, but I'm going to send $100 more.
It's one thing to get on this site and be all sympathetic about the JW plight and sound off about the wrongs the WTS commit, but it is a whole other thing to DO SOMETHING about it. This guy is trying to make a difference. Let's help him get it done!

PAYPAL ACCOUNT SET UP FOR DONATIONS FOR LAWSUIT AGAINST THE WATCHTOWER
by SHUNNED FATHER inthankyou for wanting to help.
i believe i have a good chance of winning this lawsuit.
the watchtower lawyers are defendants and have tried three times to have the lawsuit thrown out and have failed.

All due respect to Rebel 8, but I believe you mis-read the quote. The article said that he could sue the LAWYERS that represented Bethany, her mother, and the WTS. Not that he could sue the WTS, in and of itself. Only the lawyers that represented them. But that could be a victory that would lead to change!
I understand your skepticism, though. I still feel it is worth the risk. I don't think anyone should put a lean on their house, but I think it is worth giving the guy the benefit of the doubt. He has obviously come a long way.

Up for a Challenge? HERE IT IS........(Please consider this!)
by whyizit inon page 3277 there is a message by shunned father who is in a legal battle with the wts lawyers, over the death of his daughter.
he is incurring a lot of legal expenses and needs help.. how many of you have seen the e-mail that is going around that talks about how little $20 is, until you go to donate it?
then all of the sudden it seems like too much.

I agree that you should feel 100% comfortable in sending the money. If not, do not do it.
I'm not suggesting people send huge amounts, at least not until there is a trust fund of some type established. Which I trust we will be made aware of. But if the guy is pressured for time and money in order to retain a lawyer for this, then I can see where $20 here and there might make a big difference.
If he is not on the up and up, I'm sure he'll be investigated and found out. But this seems to be an ongoing, well publicized case. I'll risk a few bucks! The way I see it, if I send him $20, it is because I trust him to use it the way he said he would. If he doesn't, that is on his head. I've had family and friends that have screwed me out of much more than that. I still love them, but I don't invest in them any more. This guy will prove himself, one way or the other.
I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt.
