  Wedding gifts..wouldn't you feel good about something that lasted 28 years?

  i have sent many gifts to married people, and most of it money.. i received a wedding gift in 1979 that i am using to this day.

  it was from a family i grew up with, and the parents are now divorced, but at the time were full members of the jw's.. they asked me: did i want a full ensemble for a bedroom from marshall fields or a cuisinart.

  i chose the later.

  yes. that was a huge amount of money in 1979, I wonder what it is intoday's dollars.

  Is Being A Jehovah's Witness a Mental Disorder?

  frequently i have seen the subject of borderlind personallity disorder mentioned on this board.

  many people here feel that friends or relatives display many of the charactaristics of the disorder.

  people with histories of abuse seem to be drawn to this religion.

  I could not agree more with what you said, I still have such guilt and sorrow for doing that to my sons when they were growing up, I have apologized to them for it since I disassociated but that doesn't undo all the damage that cult did to them during their childhood and I bear full responsibility because I joined that cult when they were nine and five years old, they had no choice but I did and I still find it hard to believe I was so stupid and naive that I fell for that crap and stayed in there for 26 years!

  Are you getting emails from the ChristianWitness group?

  i got an email inviting me to join a "christian witness" group of apparently christian-oriented x-jws.

  like many of you here, i no longer have any desire to be involved with anything even remotely approaching organized religion.

  my concern in receiving this email is that someone apparently either thought or hoped i did, and as a consequence, provided my email address to someone i don't know without my knowledge or permission.

  My doors and windows are always locked...double locks on all the doors.

  I lock my bedroom door when I go to bed, I don't want to awaken with someone standing over me...friend or foe!

  so today i've learned that there is just the ol' regular apostate and an 'active' apostate.. but are there actually active witnesses on this site as well??.

  because i just saw a topic about someone asking for advice on how to do a talk?.

  the first time i tried to visit an apostate site i wasn't df'ed yet and i almost passed out on the floor from the guilt of doing it.

  That is the same way I felt my first time on an apostate site

  It was quite accidental and it scared me to death, I left right away but was back a couple of days later to prove to myself what they were saying was not true...thank goodness I went back, it helped free me from the bondage to the WBTS forever! I then found this site and I have learned so much about the JW's and unlearned so much garbage they fed me here it has changed my life.

  Use Catholic Abuse Settle to Attack JWs re:KN #37 & JW Abuse Cases

  i was thinking earlier of how the recent mega-million dollar catholic settlement in la is an ideal opportunity, in letters to the editor in local newspapers, to highlight the hypocrisy of the witnesses in how they have handled similar abuse cases.

  a couple of points that might be useful to make this applicable anywhere: .

  1. in the kingdom news #37 tract distributed around the country last fall.

  OH, I remember that place so well, went there for years until they started having them at the Mississippi Coast Coliseum & Convention Center in Biloxi.

  And discontinued having them there once all the casinos went up. Wonder why?

  I don't have a clue since I sent in my DA letter in 2000 and have not spoken to any of the witnesses since...being one of those big bad apostates that even gets shunned in Walmart and Winn Dixie

  My dad is going ... along with his parents. I would consider making plans to go if you would agree to keep me company and realize that everyone knows me and knows I'm an apostate...

  Renee, if you go please look for anyone you know from Biloxi and let me know in an email who all was there..Please I would love to know if any of the ones we know in common are there They are not having any conventions here so that means they will go to Mobile or Jackson. Hugs,

  After 18months I get called on - Elder confrontation.

  firstly i will acknowlege this may be long please bear with me.. not all written here will be exactly in the sequence we discussed things, for we talked for some time at my door.. he was my former book study conductor and i still think he has good qualities that i see lacking in so many elders, but as you will see the wts mindset is like concrete in his mind.. i am writing this not to brag but to emphasise and highlight the disgusting mindset of the wts and it's leaders and members.. here we go - some may know that my wife was molested as a child for some time by her elder father.

  when we married some years ago it did not take long for her to open up to me about what happened to her and needless to say we struggled with this, and eventually told the local elders what happened to her as a child.. we only went this path after she tried to get him to confess ,which he did'nt and so we followed what we thought at the time was the theocratic way and went to the elders ,and please note we sincerely wanted him to repent so he could get everlasting life.

  he denied all and so followed years of heartache for my wife along with her family tormenting her and eventually abandoning her, even by at least one of her sisters whom my wife also witnessed getting done by the father though not as bad ,and my wife even as a kid tried to protect her younger sisters.. ok there is the usual wts crap "we have no witnesses" even though my wife called out to jehovah to stop him as he did this for years.

  wozadummy, my heart goes out to you and your wife, she is so blessed to have you to stand by her side in all this.

  Bravo for the way you confronted that elder, I hope he will really think about what you said to him and decide to wake up!
