Hey Simon!
Why don't you put a chart of the monthly increases in the banner? Just an idea!
i've just been looking at the steady rise in member numbers here and am amazed- well done simon!.
i wonder who will win the 'percentage increase challenge ' at the end of the year ...i'll try and work it out!
the watchtower and bible tract society v's simon and jw .com .

morocco is a country with a stunning variety of scenery and intoxicating culture.. but enough of that, check out the belly dancer i saw there!.
i may post some more holiday snaps when i get the time.
alas, no more belly dancers.. expatbrit
Is she a Witness? Possibly she's a pioneer, trying to make a living! Love-it! He He...
things are warming up this side of the pacific as we approach the summer season, so it's good to have a little relax and a nice cuppa.
time also to think of our poll for the weekend.
are you ready?
How about 1, 2, 5, 14, 16... he he...
Thanks Oz for this poll!
.
it looks like the article with "those who simply leave the faith are not shunned" has been replaced by this one:.
http://www.watchtower.org/library/w/1988/4/15/article_01.htm.
This is simply disgusting! This is simply unbelievable that they can treat people this way! Ive got no other comment than this! I think Im going to have to find a place and vomit!
i recall posting about this topic almost two years ago, but i believe it's worth resurrecting for the interest of newer posters here.
i made the comment then that if you repeat something often enough, in time it becomes believed as "truth" itself.
my view hasn't changed in two years, but i notice that in a recent thread a well used teaching of the dubs was repeated on the board as if it were undisputed truth, like the reality of the sun rising each day.
Hey Oz!
You'd be interested to know that the latest Watchtower says Religion is Gaining Ground in the US!
RELIGION Is Gaining Ground, but Morality Is Losing Ground. This headline in the newsletter Emerging Trends summarized the results of a nationwide poll in the United States. Evidently, that country has seen an increase in the number of people who attend church and say that religion holds an important place in their life. -- Watchtower, Sept. 15, 2002, p. 15.
So, there you have it! Oh yes, evidently there is an increase in the number of people who attend church!
Thought you'd find this a bit amusing!

i'm trying to reconcile the society's stats in the
awake, dec. 8th, page 8!
they claim that there's a 1 in 5,100 probability of being killed in a plane crash!
Hey freeman,
I double-checked the figure and the one I quoted above is correct! When I first saw it, I said to myself, "should I be flying?" Anyway, their table of figures on page 8, doesn't match anything I can find on the net! More crap from from "The Christian Congregation of JW's, INC!!!"

21) I check to see who it is and if it's elders or "lost" pioneers who don't really want to do field service, then I don't answer the door! Another great poll Oz!

i've seen several posts about this matter and i it seems that i might have seen something regarding this in some watchtower publication, but where can i find the recent policy change regarding inactive ones (i.e., was it in a km?
), whereby they have to meet with the service committee if they want to resume field service again?
a friend of mine is worried that this could eventually lead to treating the "inactive" as self-disassociated!
I found the KM that stipulates what must be done when someone is a "longtime inactive one."
KM, Nov. 2000, p. 3:
How can a person who has been inactgive for a long time be helped to qualify again as a publisher of the good news?
.... (par 3).....
Before inviting a longtime inactive one to share again in the ministry, it is advisable for two elders to meet with him to see if he qualifies as a Kingdom publisher. They will follow a procedure similar to that used when meeting with new ones who are seeking to qualify as publishers of the good news (See the November 16, 1988, Watchtower, page 17.) The inactgive one should have the earnest desire to share the good news with others. He also needs to meet the basic requirements outlined on pages 98-9 in Our Ministry book and to be consistent in attending congregation meetings.
