(luke 18:1; 2 thessalonians 3:13) granted, the coming of "the great day of jehovah" does not depend on our prayers--it will come whether we pray for it or not.

Here's my take. Stuff like this is going to make people leave the cult faster than anything we could ever say.

Thanks blondie, for the coverage. I got a strange phone call from an older JW elder this week and he sounded very panicky. After seeing this “study” article I can see why. And this guy is in his mid 70’s, was raised in the cult, believed his whole life he would never die in this system. Unfortunately, he is held captive by a concept that is false!

Thanks for sharing your letter of resignation. You and your family are victims of spiritual abuse, no doubt about it! I’m sure you have your whole life invested in the monstrosity and would like to see reforms! However, I don’t believe this letter will contribute to changing one iota of the JW-system. I’m afraid it will likely go so someone in the Service Department (regardless of where you send it) who can care less about your arguments questioning the dogma. You will likely be viewed as a border-line apostate who is questioning the FDS and GB, and your BOE will receive a very nastily letter instructing them to investigate and find exactly what you believe. And if you don’t conform to their “loving” council, they will be instructed to set up a JC to excise you as quickly as they can. Therefore, if your desire is for the “slow-fade,” then I would kindly suggest you simply hand over just the first part of the letter dealing with health concerns and other related issues and leave the rest alone. Keep in mind what the scripture says “that which is crooked cannot be made straight!” However, if your desire is to go up in flames, and face a JC, then do send the letter.

to make a long story short i work with one of my old friends who happens to be a ms. we often get in discussions about witnesses and i have got him too admit that i am right about somethings in the past.

i think he has looked into some of the things we have talked about and found that i am right but he just kinda dismisses them.

First Piano Lesson Tomorrow!! Need a littel advice.

for most of my life i've wanted to learn to play the piano and learn to write music.

my wife got me a yamaha keyboard for christmas.

i am finally happy to report that i have my first lesson tomorrow morning.

For music theory the 3 books Contemporarary Music Theory (level 1, 2, 3) by Mark Harrison are simply wonderful! See if your teacher uses them. Also, Harrision's book The Pop Piano Book is great too!

Society's claim of Matt. 24:14 being fulfilled - What it could really mean

i've had this thought for quite a while and wonder if fits with the recent talk about the wts claiming that matt.

24:14 has been fulfilled.

my thought was this --- in the wake of the recent cutbacks at bethel, scaling back of literature, and other cost cutting measures, could the wts be preparing the r&f for the complete or massive reduction of literature that would normally be placed with "householders?

It means absolutely nothing really, except to whip-up emotions among those that push the literature, including books, magazines, and DVD’s! Of course, those in the media-corporation are laughing all the way to the bank! They may be in red ink now, but wait until they sell all the condos they built in Brooklyn Heights, along the Hudson River! I’m sure the Awake! Magazine will be merged with WT at some point. It’s only a matter of time.
