The dude that stands on the corner of Lake and State here in Chicago is there all the time. I have yet to see him talk to anyone. He just stands their like a magazine rack and holds the magazine up with one hand. Though, he always has his i-pod in his right ear. Clearly he is not actively seeking people out, but rather just taking the easy approach to "service".

I believe that some on this board have been successful in complaining to the walmarts and mall complexs about the j-dubs 'preaching'. If you demonstrate the negatives and dangers of their cult to the management levels of the walmart store or mall complex, then maybe they will decide to take away the space from the dubs.

I've yet to personally see this, but it has been going on for quite some time now. I've heard of j-dubs setting up camp at airports, malls, fairgrounds, etc. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe it's been the 'in' thing for the j-dubs to do for about 10 years or so.
i am going to tell my story, it will probably be the dumbest thing to do.. especially since i am trying to fade.

I would like to suggest that you try to build a relationship with your father. If you told him that you now realize you are trapped in a cult and need assistance, would he help you? His response might surprise you and he may welcome you with open arms.
In the coming months or years you will need a new support system, new friends, new family. Worst case scenario as you know, will be losing everything that you currently have. Please prepare yourself accordingly, and I can't overstate my feelings that you should try and build a new relationship with your dad. I think he could be a huge asset for you.

I think that most j-dubs are embarrassed to be Jehovah's Witnesses. In a way I was one of them. In regards to friends and co-workers I would never discuss my religious status, however when it came to preaching or discussing religion with people I did not personally know, then I wouldn't have any problems discussing my views.
Now that I'm an ex-dub, I'm proud to talk about my past with anyone that is interested in religious cults or is thinking about joining them. I hated every moment in field service, but now I love every moment that I "anti-witness".

Like I always tell people, they had a choice to go into the ark but they didn't.
That's a very failed concept. This ark that you believe in, was not built to hold more than a handful of people among all the animals that it was designed to save. If anyone else had even wanted to board the ark, they would have been turned away due to a lack of space. If the global flood were true(which it's not), the people of Noah's day were set up for failure. There was no intention of saving them.
