jw Massage therapist

what is the deal with this?

it seems i hear more and more about some jw woman who is a massage therapist.

i can't think of a more unseemly occupation for a jw woman that is legal.

Bare hands, bare skin, no clothes under towel, deep muscle massage, rubbing, pick your adjetive. I personally do not have a problem with them, I am wondering why jw's who change commercials to fast food chains wouldn't have problem with actual physical contact with the opposite sex when, for goodness sakes I have heard that at times even old ladies (say 80) are made to sit in the back seat when getting a ride with a brother so no hanky panky goes on.

I know an elder that wouldn't let an aunt and her (step)nephew ride together alone. They were both riding home from the convention and he wouldn't let them leave until they had a chaperone. She was in her 60s at the time. He was in his 30s. True story.

I Watched A Documentary On Jim Jones &The People's Temple & Thought of JWs

i saw an unbelievable commentary on pbs last night about the reverend jim jones and his church.

the comparison to the witnesses that i was seeing reinforced that jws are truly a cult!

they are no different than the cultist in guyana.

Jones would regularly do "practice sessions" to have the believers take fake poison and drop dead. When it came time for the real thing, they were already conditioned.

And the J-dubs have 'practice sessions' where they have a group discussion of why they don't take blood and what they are to do when faced with a medical emergency that requires the use of blood. This also involves signing away their life on their damn blood card.

When a medical emergency does occur, they are already conditioned for the real thing and readily give up their life to the wt blood altar.

There's not much of a difference between jones and the wt cult. The wt continues to make daily sacrifcies at the blood altar. One person at a time.

WHA WAS THE TURNING POINT FOR YOU IN JWS

hi.. just wondering what it was that first made you realise that jws didnt have the absolute "truth"?

was there a specific event/turning point for you or was it a moment of enlightenment?.

Around the age of ten years old, I was with my mom on a return visit who we had offered a bible study to. In my small world view, she was the nice lady that I brought magazines to every 2 weeks. After she declined the study, I asked my mom what would happen to her if she didn't become a jehovah's witness. My mom told me that she would die. In my mind, my return visit was a very nice lady and I couldn't comprehend the idea that she would be killed for the simple act of deciding not to study with my mom and I.

I couldn't accept such an idea then and I don't accept it now. It's just too bad that it took me almost 30 years to fully awaken from this cult and make my escape.

Now that I think about it, I don't recall ever bringing magazines to that return visit after she declined a bible study. For such an important, life saving work that we were supposedly doing we sure didn't put much effort into overcoming a simple rejection. Mom said she would die at armageddon. If that's the case then why not put some real fricken effort into saving this poor woman's life!

Years later, I now realize that it's all busy work to keep the mind controlled cult members enslaved to a failed concept.

of course you know i'm referring to the door to door work they take part in.

so many lives are at stake and your life is dependent on if you "accept the good news" that they preach.. i surely don't believe this anymore.

I personally think that God did use the WTS at one time, but not anymore, not for decades, as I believe it has been judged and rejected as unfit. I think God has let them to themselves.

Why would an "almighty god" need to use a fringe group that was at best controversial, or at worst a group of fanatical cultmembers?

yep, couldn't believe i actually got him on the phone.

he asked who it was and i just gave a fake name and sounded official.

i finally asked his thoughts on the 1914 date and how that teaching seems to be expiring.

You gotta remember that this is the guy that has been stopped by people with tape recorders on the street asking about the accusations that he once molested somebody.

Really? Old Teddy likes to diddle little boys too?

Sometimes I wonder how deep this rabbit hole really goes.

i am sitting in a hospital waiting room right now, as my mother in law is under going surgery for breast cancer.

across from me is the symbolic elder who sits her to give the family comfort and be the strong one to stop blood.

anyway, as i stair at this man who seems to revel in my in laws worship and respect for his position, i can not help but want to ask this man where all the elders and congregation was when they needed their help to move a few weeks ago?

so this fellow from the congregation my wife goes to (and i am inactive from for almost 6 months).

is moving to where the need is greater.

he's an ms, totally indoctrinated loyal jw.

I really don't plan to keep going to any of these. I will
probably just go back to "It's a bad idea."

Just to put a little different perspective on this. My dad(an ex elder, inactive for more than 2 decades) continues to attend some social j-dub functions. Dad recognizes that the only reason he is invited is because mom and the rest of the family are dubs. Despite that, he enjoys going and tries to be involved when it's something he wants to do. If you still enjoy some of these social functions then I would recommend that you still go.

to be honest, it even creeped me out.

maybe it was a defence mechanism to keep people at a distance .

I don't believe in Jesus, but if he did exist, I can't imagine him taking coffee breaks, walking slowly down the sidewalk in his sandals, or complaining about the preaching work.

If anything this 'life saving' work is only about saving their own asses.
