  ok i got my world population infor from here.. http://www.ibiblio.org/lunarbin/worldpop.

  if the jws have an average of 6.7 million publishers and there are 6.7 billion people in the world then simple math tells us the publisher to population ratio is 1:1000 .

  i will update this thread as i get information which i do not have in front of me at the moment because i am at work.. in 1980 the worlds population was 4.5 million and yet there were 2.5 million witnesses - so the jw: world population ratio was 1:1800 .

  these are serious questions that kill all the silly beliefs about how the earth or universe got here..and here is why.

  think about this for a second we would not be here if nothing for all existence did not exist.

  i started to put this in the great thread here on weirdos in your hall which i have so enjoyed, but there was a bit more story to it.

  there a pitiful little hunchback young man of about 25 that was soooooo introverted it was really sad.

  so he calls my house to speak to my elder dad, and i answer the phone.....unfortunately, at 15, i sounded a lot like my dad, and as soon as i said "hello" he blurts out...."brother oompa, i just wanted you to know i have gotten rid of all my pornography, and am going to really try to work in harmony with my prayers to stop masturbating.

  for me it was the fact that god is allowing all these innocent people to get killed to prove a point ,i mean it was a big bet he had with satan.. i explained it to my wife this way if i had our children killed in the most horriable way just to show they couldn't live without me how does that make me look?.

  Religious intolerance and the resulting genocide of all non-jehovah's witnesses was unacceptable to me.

  It became a lot easier for me when I later learned that many cults share this same concept that all outsiders will perish or suffer accordingly for being non-believers.

  i have a friend here that recently became engaged, and i was priviledged to be present for the event and took pictures for them.

  i am posting this particular picture for a few reasons.... for the couple, i hope the future holds as much beauty as this place we call home.

  Big Announcement on next Service meeting

  there seems to be a very important announcement this coming weeking on the next service meeting, forme it will be on wednesday 30th jan.. during the last 2 meetings they have asked that every batized jw be at that meeting and even to tell others who might not have heard the annoucement.. anyone here have any ideas i wouldn't be surprised if they are changing meeting times and arrangments...less meeting at is !.

  Rest assured that any 'big announcement' will not be important, or even interesting. All the big announcements and issues are hidden and buried in the WT where very few j-dubs will see them.

  WHY DO PEOPLE JOIN CULTS?

  i have become aware since being on jwd that many of us who converted to jw's as adults suffer from feelings of guilt and self-recrimination for being so badly deceived.

  i for one sometimes have the desire to punish myself for becoming a jw, being instrumental in my son being in their clutches, and the pain that is caused by it all.

  i have started to read "releasing the bonds" by steven hassan and i hope and pray that in time i will be more able to help my family leave the jw cult.
