yes, my ladyfriend and i were entering the san diego airport for our flight home to phoenix late yesterday afternoon, when i noticed a forty-ish man and woman sitting down behind a table loaded with wts publications.
i stopped to glance over them with joy.
i made familiar comments about some of the publications, noting the newer soft covers and trying to casually engage the pair in conversation.
They are quite lazy at my wife's congregation. Once or twice a week I see two dubs standing on the sidewalk in front of the kingdom hall, holding watchtowers up to their chests. I never see them engage pedestrians. Instead they just stand there saluting with their watchtowers.

Had religion(and cults) been banned 18 years ago, I suspect you would be a much healthier person. It's entirely possible you wouldn't have these unfounded fears that seem to haunt you.
Or maybe you have mental health issues that can be resolved once you make the choice to do so.

according to her father, they have announced at the meetings to start stocking up on survival supplies in preparation for great trib/armageddon.

Stocking up on supplies? Whatever happened to 'relying on jehovah in times of need'. Or, 'don't worry, jehovah will provide for his faithful ones'.
It seems the typical jdub has as much faith or belief in god as I do. None.

Go for it. Even when new construction is slow, there are existing homes that need their a/c and furnaces serviced or replaced. You should always be busy and when you're ready you could start your own HVAC service and sales company.

here in canada, the month of october is child abuse awareness month.
our local news station reported a yell off about abuse: people had to yell a sentence ("stop child abuse" or some other comment appropriate to the issue) into a decibel reader to see how loudly people could yell their message.. so i got to wondering, how many of you have called the police if you even thought about calling on the police so they could make sure a child was ok or needed help.. i've done it at least three times - although for two of them i didn't know if children were involved.. the first was an argument i could hear several houses away.
Yes, I've called the police on numerous occasions. One was to report a pedestrian with a handgun(in reality it was a fake gun. the police said the guy was lucky they didn't shoot him as the gun looked very real)
Other occasions I've called the police on neighbors that were fighting and yelling beyond an acceptable level.
I've been in my neighborhood for 5 years now. The first couple of years I had to call the police many times. Now, I can't even recall the last time I dialed 911. It's quite peaceful now, but I won't hesitate to get involved and call the police when necessary.
