I'm kind of torn between the view of TMS and that of Outlaw. Perhaps those that are predisposed to questioning and independent thinking will have their exit journey accelerated due to the latest generation flop. On the other hand, most jw's do not fully understand or even care about jw beliefs and doctrines.

A few new pictures from Alaska
by upnorth inlast week (i left on 5-17-10) i was sent to juneau to work i took about 5 gb worth of pictures and a few short video clips.
the camera was a nikon coolpix l22, it's a pretty decent little camera.
unfortunately it had a dust spot or two under the lens.

I lived there for about 6 months while working a seasonal job. I loved it so much that I wanted to stay but I ran out of money before I found a permanent job. I sold my junk car, bought a plane ticket and returned to my home state with my tail between my legs.
It's been about 15 years since my trip there, but I still miss it. It's such a beautiful place. It would take many lifetimes to see and explore everything that Alaska has to offer.

When did I say that toyota has real world safety issue's with their accelerator control system?
My point is very simple. The angry mob has moved on from one issue to another and I'm betting that Toyota loves it as it gets the spotlight off of their back and gives them time to regroup and rebuild their image.

I'm sure that Toyota is quite pleased with the oil spill. The media is now focused on BP instead of toyota's safety issues.
After the BP mess is resolved, there will soon be some other issue for the angry mob to chase after with pitchforks.

Shawshank Redemption and leaving Jehovah's Witnesses
by AllTimeJeff ini doubt very seriously that i am the first to make the connection of exiting jw's and much of the movie "shawshank redemption".. frequently, the injustice that many experience as baptized members of jehovah's witnesses cause them to want to resign, to leave.. but it is a prison of sorts.
if you leave and announce it, you are shunned.
and no one will talk to you.. shawshank is such a remarkable movie to me for its simple, underlying theme; finding meaning in our suffering, and never stopping the fight against injustice, esp against our own freedom.. the best part of the movie is the line "you can either get busy living, or get busy dying.".

Andy ended up prison due to circumstances beyond his control. This is similiar to jw's that are born into the cult. It's not a place we would choose to be yet we must do the best that we can until we find our own sewage pipe to escape from.

such couples could therefore be stigmatized as outsiders -- receiving less social support, enduring a more stressful life and perhaps developing poorer health as a result, drefahl speculated.. please, what is your reaction to this new research finding?

I don't see a problem with this. As a man, I'd gladly shave a few years off of my life in exchange for being with a hot woman 10 or 20 years younger than me.
I'm sure the cougar is thinking: "I know I'll die sooner, but damn, look at this hottie I get to take home every night!"

I'm surprised there isn't more violence involving Jehovah's witnesses.(I'm not condoning jw violence) One would think that their destructive shunning policy and deadly blood doctrine would bring about more violent conflicts.

I used to be. 13 years ago I ran a marathon. I've gotten lazy and fat since then. Recently I've begun walking and hope to graduate to running again as I'd love to run another marathon.
