I don't know if their is anything at all that will ever help some people get out.
Sad to say, but it's true that not everyone can be helped.
people always ask what subject they should raise with their jw relatives.
the problem is, what is important to you is often of no consequence to me.
no one knows what will be the issue to change a relatives mind.

sunday i had a visit by two young men who introduced themselves as elder so-and-so and elder so-and-so from a nearby church of jesus christ of latter day saints.
i have not done much reading on their beliefs and doctrines.
so i was wondering if anyone else had some information and what advice you can give.
Right on! The Southpark episode of the mormons is perfect, they found a way to completely poke fun at them yet were accurate in their beliefs.
I visited southeast asia last year and on board with me were at least a dozen or more mormons. They were on their way to the philippines. Yes, the guys all refer to
eachother as elder(so and so) and the women are refered to as sisters. They were quite pleasant, though I felt sorry for them cuz they had to be dressed up suits and ties
or dresses for the entire duration of the flight which was about 12 hours or so. They must have been getting quite hot and sticky!
To be honest, when I was among those mormons I felt like I was among the Jdubs,, not much of a difference. All the guys(elders) had the society look that witnesses have.
All the sisters were dressed extremely conservative. It was quite an experience though, it really opened my eyes to the fact that the jdubs are no different from the 'world'
I even overheard a couple of the 'elders' stating what a fine witness they had just given in regards to a religious conversation they had with someone during our layover.
i stumbled on this site dong some research, i post now only for those you have not sinned against jehovah's holy spirit, since only jehovah knows this, some value might be taken form this.
i currently serve as the service overseer in my congregation, i have been an elder for over 10 years.. the fundmental issue that challanges every jw faith at some point are the imperfections of the wtbs, & those that take the lead sometimes make huge errors.
as a third generation jw with a huge network of elders, i have heard many bad things about those that take the lead.. some of these have effected myself and my family, this is the test, no different than what job faced, but it is more on the emotional and mental level.
Since everything is so 'black and white' for you and jehovah, I wish you the best in the upcoming worldwide genocide in which you'll be destroyed for your
'bad association' with us 'apostates'.

You bring up a good point. It's to our advantage to put the burden of proof on them. Especially so, when they claim to have the only 'true' religion. Therefore they need
to prove it.
I recently asked a question similiar to what you have proposed. I had stated to someone that I don't believe that the GB and the watchtower corp is jehovah's organization.
I asked this person when they were appointed? How were they appointed? Did jehovah send a certified letter? A fax? An email? Obviously I was being a bit snotty,
but the response I received was this: 'fine, I don't want to talk about it, I'm just not as smart as you!" I replied that I'm not any more intelligent than the next guy, I'm just simply
asking for a legitimate answer to their claim that the watchtower corp and GB are appointed by jehovah.

Such a typical remark. You admit that various mistakes/abuses occur, but yet you put the blame on us! so typical.
But I shouldn't be surprised,, the WTS has always been this way,, the blame ultimately is on the individual, despite the fact they were seriously wronged by another.
where do you find ones who do this?
yellow pages?
if you've had it done, was it accurate?
geevee,
that was funny, you made me laugh. thanks.
.
reading hellriders topic made me wonder about this.. i waited till i was 21 because i was drinking alcohol as a youth and didn't want to get baptized while breaking the law.
man that is screwed up, seemed reasonable at the time.
Moomanchu,
I can relate, I was 19 and didn't get baptized earlier cuz of all the drinking and partying I did as a "young one"TM
Funny thing was, that all my friends were baptized at young ages such as 14 or 15 yet we'd go out drinking and partying the very weekend after their baptism.
Yeah it does seem to be a slow night, BUT.. it's saturday,, what the hell am I doing online?
ok, i dont believe they are really jw's, just by what they say.
but its funny anyway!
i think the guys doing the taping assumed they were, or its set up!.
Yep, not witlesses, but not much different from the j-dubs either.
.
i hate to cook, i need someone to cook for me.
