  i lived in sc for 2 years and went to college there.

  while i was there, i met a 27 year old married man and he had an affair with me.

  Actual Number of the anointed remaining

  heard from a sister that a visitor to their cong (from usa) mentioned in passing that at the top at brooklyn they did not think that the reported number of anointed still alive was accurate, rather they believe that only a couple of hundred remain.

  they apparently believe this points to the end soon (again) - also if it is true they are not proclaiming it (obviously because the time limit it imposes will be exposed as another failed date).

  odd if that is the case as they keep on finding gb members who are not actually very old

  i was talking with a woman today who admires the jws, though not one of them, and she was telling me things like they are the only people with strong principles and families and the only ones that really try to apply god's laws in their lives and uphold biblical truth.

  also that there are many diseased individuals among the blood donors and most donated blood is contaminated so the dubs are doing well to avoid transfusions.

  i was going to say to her i am surprised that you did not join them.

  I had a few householders express themselves in the same way, but then say, "But I never could go door to door like you people."

  Or some would say, "If there were more people like you we wouldn't have the problems that we do." But that is as far as it goes w/these types of conversations. They personally don't want to get involved because they know that there are no holiday celebrations and deep down they don't want to commit to such a rigid lifestyle.

  Juni Can you imagine if everyone were JW's? Wow,,, they'd be stoning and killing all the members that criticized or disagreed with the FDS. It might be true that we wouldn't have the same problems on earth today,, we'd just have different or even worse problems. For those that don't recall,, the watchtower on many occasions has stated that since it's not legal to stone someone like they did in biblical times, that is why we don't do it now. I can only assume they are implying that they would if they could.

  Disturbing illustrations

  i've heard this illustration several times in varying formats.

  to encapsulate: a man works at a railway bridge and is in charge of switching the tracks so that the train can successfully cross the river.

  he sees his son playing on the bridge just as the train is coming.

  So let me get this right, and please correct me if I'm wrong. The attendant can switch the tracks, thereby allowing the train to cross the bridge.

  or... he doesn't switch the tracks. If he doesnt throw the switch, where does the train go? Over a cliff? Come on! that is so dumb,

  if the train isn't diverted onto the bridge, then the other set of tracks would run in a different direction,, maybe it heads south, along the river?

  One thing is for certain,, train tracks don't run straight off a cliff unless ofcourse you've seen the movie 'back to the future' part three.

  a rumor alert indeed, but it could be related to the distribution of kingdom news no.37, "false religions end is near.".

  however we have found out that there is going to be an announcement sometime in september and it is supposed to be shocking.

  Yep, it's definitely losing effectiveness. It'll also come back to haunt them too. They are living on borrowed time, and that bill will eventually come due.

  The states of island? (well many countries are made up of united states, but not island I think)
  Anyway, it's it a bit the case. That the local authorities do not follow Gods laws here. And also it is considerate of the society, IMHO DB
  
  Let me clarify, Here in the United States of America JW's are taught to obey the local authorities unless it goes against god's laws.
  I don't care how considerate you think the society is being,, it's still illegal. And guess what? In the philippines, though divorce is illegal there, you can still get an anullment if you
  have a legitimate reason that you can document. If the elders felt their was sufficient evidence to grant an illegal marriage then surely there's enough evidence to seek an anullment.
  And if there isn't enough evidence? Then obey the law.

  I guess they don't have to follow ceasar's law as jesus commanded.

  Here in the states we were always taught to obey the local authorities unless it goes against following god's laws.

  I'm sorry, but this is not one of those cases. If her pervious husband left her,, well then deal with it, don't break the law and try and justify it religiously.

  got to chapter 15 in the bible teach book and finally worked up the guts to end my study and tell them goodbye... .

  i can't believe i got so close to actually being baptized.

  Good call on using only their literature,, in doing so they can't blame it on 'worldly' material or 'apostate' material. They can only blame the 'organization'
