I'm not sure yet if I like my name. If I happen to meet a jdub I really hate my name. My name is Aaron, so it's always the same old response. Oh, you have such a nice biblical name.
Or my personal favorite. How is Moses doing?
Worse yet, I met some jdubs at my wife's congregation, and sure enough, they have a 'brother' by the name of Moses there!!!
I think I should just get it over with and change my name.

Unbelievable. I didn't read the entire post but here's my take on this:
Most of my grandparents were racist, usually towards blacks. Usually it was in the form of fear, they were afraid to talk to blacks and therefore never did whether it was on the street
or at the kingdumb hall.
I'm currently in an interracial marraige, and guess what? I just found out my dub wife is afraid of black people! I told her that's ridiculous. How would she feel if I told her all asians were
bad? There is an equal amount of racism/fear within the walls of the kingdumb hall as is there is outside the hall. The only mitigating factor is that there is more fear of the wt corp and
their cronnies, so for the most part, people behave themselves in public settings, in a passive form of segregation.

There was definitely an 'us' verse 'them' attitude that was crammed down my throat at an early age.
I've given this experience before, but I'll do so again.

We sat in the car for a moment, when I asked my mom what would happen to this nice lady that had refused our bible study.
My mom responded by telling me she would die at armageddon if she didn't become a witness.
At that moment I knew this whole religion was a sham.

pertaining to Jesus love and his dying for all mankind. The j-dub tells me to change the station,, I ask why. the response is that it's gospel music and it's bad.
I mentioned that the song is very nice and speaks only of Jesus love and sacrifice for mankind. I asked what was wrong with it... waiting.. no response from the j-dub.
I refused to change the music as there was no legitimate reason for the request. The j-dub then proceeds to cover ears so as not to hear the music.
I now think this person is insane.
The funnier thing is that I'm agnostic and I'm NOT offended by christian music, I actually like it.
i honestly believe most jw males stay in the orgnisation because they are given control, i.e.
married males have ultimate control over their wives and children.
i know a woman who was married to an elder and who said that prior to becoming a jw she would never be submissive to her husband.
Among the J-dubs, men are to be respected simply for being a man. I don't agree with this. It's in my opinion that each person, on an individual basis has to earn his or her
own personal respect among peers/family/friends etc. It's not something that should be an entitlement
