  about a week ago, there was a thread about an elvis impersonating apostate who showed up at the long beach, ca convention and sang kingdom melodies to passing jws.

  after this past trip to ohio, i have become painfully more aware of how alone i am.

  i miss having someone to share my life with.. .

  im almost to the point of dating again, yet i have so many obstacles to overcome.. .

  Mum is very wise and honest with herself about men in general.

  It seems to me that men prefer to relax and have a good time with other men, while women are there to fulfill needs.

  It seems you need to find a balance between a healthy relationship with a women, and having time to spend with quality guy friends.

  Most guys need guy friends. It doesn't make you gay.

  On the other hand,, to be sure of your sexuality, go out and have a threesome with a male/female couple. Then decide who you liked 'playing' the most with.

  it seems to me that they're slowly dismantling the date theology that ties the end times to this period in history.

  first, they updated the generation teaching to mean a figurative generation, thus removing the possibility in the near future when all who were alive in 1914 are dead.

  then, they abandoned 1935 so the annointed will never die off, and prove their belief that the annointed will see armageddon wrong.

  None of her family are JWs, so, it is kind of an odd dynamic. I mostly hang around with her family (black) and she leaves us to go spend time with mine (white).

  I find that type of behavior to be very insulting. Your family won't associate with you. That behavior is rude to you, and by extension rude to your wife. Yet your wife finds it acceptable

  to associate with the very ones(your family) that are behaving badly towards you.

  At the moment I'm only being shunned by my brother and his wife. Yet my wife continues to talk to them. I told my wife that if her family rejected her, and accepted me, then I would tell her family to go to hell instead of associating with them. She agreed with that, yet finds it ok to talk to my brother and sis-in-law all the while they are shunning me.

  But, if the WTS still exists ten years from now, when a 30-year-old mother discovers that her child is studying to become a JW she will come to this site and ask for help. We will assure her that she can get through this, we will encourage her to be non-confrontational and very curious, we will help her find the ways to word her questions so that she spares her daughter and herself from the horror of the perverse JW influence on family life.

  For the most part I'm not too concerned about educating the average j-dub(unless ofcourse they come to me asking for my opinion) I am however concerned with educating non-jdubs about the dangers of this cult and that is one reasong why I continue posting here. I also post here for jdubs that are beaten down and looking for some support.

  I agree that it is important for sites like this to continue having a strong presence on the net. Just when you think nobody but ourselves are reading this site, then all of a sudden, a bunch of new members sign up and begin their journey here.

  I do believe that even if this site does not continue on, then there will be others to pick up the slack. There are just too many caring, ex-dubs that know there are people out there that need help.

  Underground Lurker....Coming up for air.....

  i have been a lurker for the last year...finally got the courage to post.

  i guess you could say that i have successfully completed a "fade", although that was not my initial intent.

  due to my being in an "unscriptural" separation for a number of months, (that, combined with my paranoia, hence, the alias) i have been forced to go underground.

  i just wanted to state that everytime i post a topic on how to attack the idiots at the watchtower i get replies that my schemes won't work.

  to all second string quarterbacks, my schemes are working; so while you sit on the sidelines watching the first string quarterback win the game, don't be a player hater.... hate the game and not the player.

  since i quit taking crap off my witness family they are in retreat!

  I'm in agreement on your methodology If my circumstances were different I would be doing the exact same thing you are.

  My reason for staying passive is for my Dad. He singlehandedly put my family back together by telling my mom he would divorce her if everyone were to shun me.

  Ironically, my Dad, using agressive methods, was able to keep the family unit together. If I were to be aggressive in my anti-jw movement, it could potentially break the family apart. Dad would then divorce mom and move out here. He doesn't want that outcome, so therefore I will not be the one to put him in that position.

  That being said, I'm giving you a thumbs-up!

  In my opinion we need more people like you that stand up for what is right.

  I believe that everyone is accountable for their behavior. Ofcourse, everything comes at a cost. I cannot for one second longer, belong to a mind control cult that tells me how to live my life. The consequence of that is that I lose many formerly close relationships.

  The j-dubs, in a way make the same decisions. They cannot for one second, belong to a worldly group of people who they perceive to be controlled by satan. Their consequence is the same. They lose out on friendship and association with these 'satanic, worldly' people.

  It's hard for me to blame the 'other side' for their choices and subsequent consequences. At the same time I'm not going to reward their bad behavior by pining for their affection. Often, I feel pity for j-dubs out there. It is their choice to continue that life, and I feel they are losing much more than I lose by living my life free from their cult.

  If any current j-dubs open their eyes to reality and then seek me out, I will not turn them away for their previous bad behavior. I will instead reward them for their current good behavior and welcome them back into my life.

  my niece told me that they've reduced the district conventions (english speaking as far as i know) by two this year.

  Even if they have 15 thousand at each english, that would fall well short of 100,000 english j-dubs that attended in the 80s.
