  FORTY New JW Dating Game

  the other night i watched as my wife did her usual pre-study for the study.

  i became increasingly puzzled as a flurry of activity ensued.

  the revelation book was hauled out along with the insight books and a few wt volumes.

  Poztate, right now? Joe R. tossed out "character development" as quickly as he could in favor of advertising the kingdom. I don't know any JW who resembles Jesus any more so than my good neighbors and friends who aren't Christian in the least. Well, maybe caty's step dad elder (who, lol, came home today at 11:00, skipped the WT study in favor of some chores to help out some of the "friends" like fixing their lawn mowers for free).

  Technically, 1975 is still relevant (if you ask some old-timers) cause however old Adam was when Eve was created ended the creative day. So if Adam was 40 when Eve leaped from his midsection then 2015 would be it.

  who would like to add their murphy's law here.. i'll start.

  put your brand new car in your parents garage, so that it will stay clean, but when you come back and look at the car in the morning, there's bird sh*t on it.

  yeah, a stupid bird was trapped in the garage all night, and the damn thing sh*t on my brand new car..

  Cross or a Stake - which was it?

  we were always lead to believe, when we belonged to the jws, that jesus died on a "stake".

  was this really true or did he die on a cross as all other religions appear to believe.

  if it was a cross, what on earth did the jws get out of saying otherwise.

  Weddings, funerals, and the odd times I'd happen to visit Grandma when they were there is all I've seen of them in the last 20 years. When we were kids we saw each other more, naturallym My dad always told me the story of how when his brother, my uncle, was 17 and studying with a JW, the guy blew him off once on study night and he never showed interest again. Funny, cause at Grandma's house, the pictures of him, his wife, and their two daughters, my cousins, all "unbelievers" are front and center on the fireplace mantle. My family is the most balanced and off-kilter family in the world. But whattya want, we're Irish folk who only got into the USA by pretending to be Cornish.

  it is the largest hurricane known in history.

  the entire storm range covers more than 50% of the gulf of mexico.

  I don't want to get into this topic other than to say I'm still convinced it doesn't matter whether God exists or not. We as humans should do the best we can while we're here, then shuffle off into oblivion. Like my ex-wife's brother said to the elders when he quit going to meetings and they asked, "Don't you want everlasting life?" He said, No, I want to grow old and die like everyone else. I always thought he was something of a dimwit but that's damned profound.

  Alan, you're such a pip (sqeak)! I know it's Sunday and the wife wants you to take her shopping, but briefly what are your ideas on gene therapy to fix certain darwinian baggage/leftovers and turn recessive genes back on so, say, I don't have to wait a year for my radial nerves to grow back, they could just inject me with the serum and it'll grow in a week (cancer free of course)?

  To All Of The Kids Who Survived the .....

  first, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they carried us.

  they took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes.. .

  then after that trauma, our baby cribs were covered with bright colored lead-based paints.. .

  Just Got Home From the Hospital
