bad day, bad year
by Cygnus inspent all day today downtown being shuffled around to this building and that trying to get temporary assistance.. what a nightmare.. everyone tells you something different.
and it's so humiliating.
i didn't work my ass off for 17 years for this.. it's just very hard to think of losing my fiance, my house, my job, my cars, the use of my hands, electricity and heat, all in 8 months.

My Personal Ad - Update 11/4 see end of post
by Cygnus insorry i had to start a new topic but the board's software is not allowing me any replies and with all the newer people here they might want to get to know a little about me.. i was raised in a jw household that wasn't terribly strict, but strict enough where i had no worldly friends and wouldn't even consider college or extracurricular school activities.
baptized at 17. that and getting married just after turning 20 stunted me emotionally and i'm still recovering, though i think i'm doing an okay job.. started working in my father's business and pretty much took it over when he retired and moved to florida in 1995.. quit associating with jws in 1997 at age 25. jw wife left me on the advice of the elders, but she came back 5 months later.. grew my hair very long and pierced my ear.. in spring of 2000 two elders came to my house under the pretense of inviting me to the memorial.
" they then informed me that the real reason they were there was to serve me notice that a judicial hearing was being scheduled and i was asked several times to either attend or put something in writing that i was no longer one of jehovah's witnesses.. i chose to attend the hearing.

Bible parts I like
by Cygnus init took me a reading of thomas paine's "age of reason" to see what the craziness in the ot had.
that and many other more contemporary works showed me how jesus was a complete fraud.
but there are stories in the bible that are unmistakably brilliant in their pace, action, and adventure.

Feeling a little low again
by Cygnus inlots of ups and downs in my life......... and when my mom helps me with things i can't do on my own, even though i'm assured it's not simple charity but done out of love, i feel guilty.
i was self-sufficient from age 16. now i am nearing 34 and can barely do anything without assistance.
it's very difficult losing everything (money, car, job, use of limbs, fiance, etc) in the span of less than a year.

Learning.... and forgetting
by Cygnus inwe as humans have this unique ability to learn from mistakes, and comprehend the significances and results of bad decisions.
and we can retain that information for later use, as we're blessed with a concept of time and cause-effect.. i really wish cats had the same, as my cat has been yelping to go out, then come back in, every 5 minutes or so.
it's freezing cold out and raining and once he's out, he wants back in.

Life is tough, be nice to everyone
by Cygnus ini went shopping last night around 1 in the morning and the late-night crew did all they could to assist me, and they were so nice.
it brings my heart great cheer when strangers show empathy and kindnss, and more so when acquaintances do the same.
i had a very nice phone call with almostatheist last night and he obliged me by letting me ramble on, and i thank him for letting my big mouth blather and blather.
