  How can we know there is a God?

  one way to determine whether there is a god is to apply this well-established principle: what is made requires a maker.

  the more complicated the thing made, the more capable the maker must be.. for example, look around your home.

  tables, chairs, desks, beds, pots, pans, plates, and other eating utensils all require a maker, as do walls, floors, and ceilings.

  Is Michael the Archangel really Jesus?

  for years i have believed what the wt says about michael the archangel really being another name for jesus christ.

  but now i am reading lots of other non-witness books, i am beginning to question this teaching.. has anyone done any research on this particular subject.. your comments would be appreciated.

  Hellrider, I'm afraid you'd probably have to go back in time 1950-2200 years ago, learn Greek and Aramaic, and ask around to get concrete answers to your inquiries.

  Should I take the bread and the wine, asks my friend,

  two of our friends (ex jws) came out of the org, about three years ago.

  they went to an evangelical church, and have now settled in the salvation army.

  the sa, does not have the bread and wine ceremony/service, and the wife, (her husband believes that they should partake of the bread and wine) has been prayerfully searching to see if they should really take of the bread and wine.

  I can't imagine labeling one's self as a Christian and not 'partaking of the emblems,' either weekly or on Nisan 14/15 after sundown. Jesus' and Paul's words are pretty clear. Imagine if one of them walked into a Kingdom Hall during the "Memorial" and found that 1 or 2 or even none partook. They'd wonder if they'd stumbled into a satanic ritual of refusing the flesh and blood of the Christ.

  dfed is spamming the board by pasting selective arguments from the Watchtower brochure 'Does God Care'. I certainly hope board space is not wasted in an attempt to refute these poor arguments as it has been done over and over again. Simply put, natural selection explains biology and the universe just is. A Supreme Designer could have made a lot of corrections, both in biology and in space. The list is volumnious. Either "It" was incapable of doing or or chose not to do so.

  Well I think it's fair to say Robert is pretty convinced of his ideas, and judging from his pleasant correspondence with me he's at least come a little way towards accepting people who have quit the JW religion due to being "stumbled" over matters pertaining to the WTS' hypocrisy.

  i usually use the basic wallpapers that windows xp provide.. i love using "azul" wallpaper to remind me of the summer, since our summers don't last long.. .

  this time of year i turn to the "autumn" wallpaper with the nice colored leaves.. .

  my doctors surgery has a jw on the reception and i dont want her to have access to my notes in am going to ask the doctor to make sure she is denied access is this being spiteful?

  she would not talk to me otherwise so why should she have acesses to my most personal information.

  I wouldn't hesitate to ask that another employee handle sensitive information. I wouldn't trust a fellow JW with sensitive info as far as I could throw him/her.
