  How do you choose......

  i was born and raised a jw.... right now i know i am still going through the deprogramming, but in the pit of my stomach i so want to believe in something.

  i don't know if it is because i always have had a regular "schedule" with god, but to leave and not believe anymore to me is very lonely.

  where do you start?

  Did you drink to get over being a Witness?

  when i first left the witnesses, i had some times of being really pissed at all the wasted time and the way the people acted.

  i remember one time, my spouse and i decided to just get ripped.

  we did and as we did, we laughed and even cried at times over the issues.

  My D/f appeal meeting went amazingly, but the still want to d/f me

  sorry how long this is but i found the meeting very exciting.

  the short version is i said directly that i do not believe in the wts, feel being d/f is unfair on my jw family so asked them to just leave me alone.

  it didn't work.

  A New Trend for JW Baby Boomers?

  i'm sure this topic has come up before but i'm new here :-) since many of us are offspring of the baby boomer generation or of a generation earlier, i've noticed a trend.

  my parents and their siblings who largely grew up as witnesses are now entering or have entered retirement age.

  although my parents were generally hard working and responsible people, they have little retirement savings.

  i'm a year from graduating with a double major in math and english, and am considering law school.

  several years ago, he became involved with a j/w, although she was being shunned at the time.

  hey guys,.

  assume you're talking to a faithful, indoctrinated jw that is only now getting some doubts rolling in his head.

  let's say that he doesn't have much info yet, hasn't done much research, and is pretty scared of anything that smells "apostate".

  first, i would appreciate it if we could agree on a translation other than the nwt.

  on to the doctrines; i would appreciate the full scriptural basis for the following doctrines.

  you may take as much time on each point as you feel you need to and consider any information you want in arriving at an answer, but i would prefer it if the answer is from the scriptures.

  Whats the dumbest reason youve been counseled?

  my friend was counseled for having a bad attitude because he wore white socks w/ his suit.
