a few weeks back, fred told us all that after a few weeks all would be ok at the kingdom hall.. well, i can't speak for everyone, but i will tell you that my wife hasn't been to a meeting since the program aired.
she is going through a stage here where she seems really depressed.
she is spending time with her friends who are not jw's.
She will be depressed and upset for a while, why shouldn't she?
She's finding out the watctower is not really who they claimed to be.
So, her entire concept of 'world reality' is collapsing.
This needs to happen if she is to break free from this cult, and I suggest you continue to show her other cracks in the watchtower, albiet with patience.
Breaking away from this cult will be hard, it always is.

Well I am new here, but I have to speak up. I have been a witness since 1972, and we were expecting the end in 1975 in October. Well it didn't come of course, and then there was a lot of shuffling around on that. Then some hinted 1984 at assemblies and conventions. Then I remember that the magazines kinda alluded to the idea that it was those of us following that had false expectations. Well I only expected it because the GB said it was coming, so I was not happy about that.
It is 27 years past that date, and nothing has changed still the expectation is still there, in the meetings, and the literature. But no date is given anymore. I am 51 years old and frankly I am tired, and being in expectation of Jehovah bring the end in my life time does not even excite me anymore. If he does he does, if he don't its no sweat off my forehead. I am not going at it urgently anymore.
I lost a very faithful witnesses son to death, and when you lose a loved one you realize how these failed dates are just that nothing but more pressure. Apparently somebody don't know what their talking about. And for me since that resurrection isn't here right now I don't give a hoot anymore. Nothing is going to reunite my son with our family that is going to heal it now. Trust in what, I ask, some vague promise that the end is coming and no one knows when.
The GB has been making a whole lot of mistakes, and we are the ones suffering for it. Maybe it is time to take a good hard look at it all, and quit having such blind faith because we are told to do so. This is just my thought.
And that Dateline stuff is true. I saw it twice in the congregation in NC I am in. And the victims of the child abuse live in a personal hell I can't even imagine. One is in a mental hospital most the time, and the other has had 6 husbands. All thanks to the Elders trying to cover it up. Yes Asheboro, NC, that is just one of the places that have covered up child molestations and one was an Elder who did it.

most of you know he wrote the book -jehovah's witnesses defended.
in his arguments he seems to do more acrobatics then the watchtower does.

Typical JW response. When they can't defend any of their ridiculous doctrines without getting crushed they have to resort to some lame excuse to leave in order to save face.

why do almost 70% of the members who post here, put down the witness?
i'm not a witness and i dont wanna be one, but whatever the witness did to y'all, just put whatever in the pass, and look towards god's promises, and also look forward to christ promises, and remember that, aint nobody perfect, because we all is imperfect & full of sin...... .

Since you are not a Jehovah's Witness and have never been one, let me give you a clue.
First of all, who the hell are you to tell victims of this cult what they should do? You don't have the slightest clue what people here have had to suffer through and still continue to go through hell. You don't have a damn clue what it's like to have been in the grip of this cult.
Some victims have lost children, broken marriages, careers, families destroyed, and lives ruined all because of this dangerous cult that continues to wreak havoc upon unsuspecting vulnerable and innocent people around the world.
It is our right to express our anger, a valid emotion toward these liars and expose their deciet to warn others. It also helps to vent steam which is a healing process.
So, unless you are here to learn or help, I suggest you take a long hike.
