whatever you do, talk to your husband about it. Go ahead and do it - but talk to him. Sneaking around will break your family more definitly than not talking and worse yet - involving your kids by having them "keep secrets"....

by dissonance_resolved intonight as i was putting my son to bed, we were looking out his bedroom window from his bed, down upon the neighbors' house across the street.
they have a beautiful, big sparkly christmas tree in their front window and my son gazed at it and said, "that's what's missing from our family.
" talk about daggers through the heart!.

was expelled out because she participated in more than one porn videos with classmates in the school and theses videos became public.
she is 14 years old and grew up as witnesses.but anybody knows she had many boyfriends and she-, but that thing was unbelievable!

is there anyone in a postion to help this poor child? Is there a guidance councillor that can be called, or the local police? There must be someone that knows her name and can alert authorities.
of course the elders "viewed" the evidence. and told their wives. who told two friends....
i hate this cult but ..... please, a simple name drop to someone that can help by someone who knows might save this girl from further horror

Donations aren't coming in from Western Countries: more confirmation
by Julia Orwell inin talking to sparky the elder today (http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/263862/1/an-elder-called-me-hes-waking-up-and-knew-id-understand-nice-for-him-to-have-a-friend) i found out he did the accounts for our congregation for years.
he said very rarely did the congregation meet its expenses without some well-off brother chipping in a few grand here and there.
the elders would also make up the shortfall.

ex- jw as a result of a successful fade - over 25 years- it can be done but it is sure sad to see the people you love lost in that cult
i would love to see the almighty org do anything to push the envelope with people like me...they have everything to lose because, unlike the first five years or so, they dont scare me one bit

Elder's attitude to dating a non-believer vs acting like a Christian

he's a non-practicing cofe christian.
i am a recently inactive jw (oh, how i regret getting baptized at 15).. my dad is an elder.

i am married 21 years to my very Catholic (aka very Christian) husband. I was marked, ignored and otherwise treated very poorly by former witness friends and family....it was actually helpful to my fade. There was a sister who was also marked - members of the congregation thought SHE was dating a non witness and started shunning her at meetings (the funny thing was, she wasn't!) but it made her rethink her belief in the org.
my parents and siblings came to the dance partion of our wedding, not the ceremony. A couple of years later i asked my parents if they actually thought i was married or just "living in sin" and they said no, they agreed i was married....to which i replied, "so God was at my wedding, and you were not." It never came up again.
the attitude comes and goes with them - if they did not need the help of their non jw kids, i imagine we would see/hear less from them
My husband never ceases to be amazed at how they can treat/talk to me under cover of being jw...or how they live their life and the angst they feel but he can defend his faith and belief system and that is a killer for them so they dont ever bring it up to him. As he says, they have always been nice enough to him, but he is shocked how they can treat me.
When i first fell in love, I prayed not to be in love with him.... and i was really upset that he was praying to ST Joseph for God's will to be done. My own JW upbringing kicked in and i thought "how dare you think YOUR prayers are better but i did switch up and started praying for whatever God's will was...and everything worked out in such strange ways for us to be together.
We have a very basic, happy family.
Must have been Satan answering our prayers, right? ; )

Gifts for C.O.'s and D.O.'s
by sosoconfused indoes anyone else find it funny that the circuit overseers and district overseers go to a new congregation every week, have all their bills paid and then for some odd reason the elders always find a way to give them extra money.
on top of that there are atleast 10 families in every hall that give them a green handshake.
then the people who give them expensive gifts (i am ashamed to say i participated in this) like watches etc... yet these guys still act like they are giving up so much.... .

when i was a kid the greatest privledge was having the co and wife over for supper....we were dirt poor but mom could make a fantastic bowl of homemade soup, fresh bread, stew etc It was always a big deal for our family of seven kids to entertain them. When I was single, struggling with health issues and major depression i decided to invite the then serving couple over for lunch. I was hoping to grab back some love of the org.
The woman was horrible - i was in a one bedroom, simple apartment. Lunch was simple but varied. I served a plate of cheese and although i loved strong, sharp cheese I had settled on some mild cheddar, specifically for the company.
The woman sniffed at the plate, inquired as to type and said "I cant imagine why anyone would ever serve mild cheddar - it is such a waste. I would never serve it." That is pretty much a quote, i was so shocked with her comment it was seared into my brain.
I just looked at her - great clothes, perfect makeup- and said nothing, I was in such shock. Her husband was even embarrassed.
