28grateful to my Elders..No talks, no FS time, no privledges....no problem!
by oompa inso one year of lots of questions and showing doubts, and missing quite a few meetings but still going out in service, doing mics, reading, hall projects...then i get the new light from society regarding the letter i sent them (wow, stunned me, blew me away) and i let them know how i felt about it and i quit the ministry after 40 active years.
nobody says anything about this, no counsel, no will you go out with us on saturday.
not a single "were is your time for the month" phone call.

Has any body ever read this book "Lamb" by Christopher Moore?
by ldrnomo init's a great book if you have a sense of humor about god and christ in fact he quotes voltare in the begining.
"god is a comedian playing to an audience that's afraid to laugh".

I am glad to see this getting the attention it deserves - I posted this first thing yesterday morning and had not one reply - I have to be honest it made me sad to think no one cared about a young Saskatoon victim -
The jws in my life have been totally absent and quiet since this hit - they attend this Hall - i'm not sure about the cong. We live in "their territory" and it explains the reaction I got last fall when I was called on with the track ....the one with the obvious ref to the RC ped issue. I did not know about the local situation yet and commented on the witness problems in this area (meaning the international ones) They left pretty fast.
I contacted the local paper with more info but heard nothing back from the reporter. I will also contact the radio reporter

by sosad init was front page of the saskatoon star phoenix - yes he is an ex-elder and now ex jw but as an elder he admits to "sexual exploitation of a teenage girl who was a member of the same congregation".
she is now 25 and was 14 - 17 (yup - four years) years of age.
no mention if she is a jw still.. the reporter had no infomation related to other cases, the two witness rule etc etc - i emailed her some bare bones info related to these background facts as well as the silentlambs name and this web site.

The indication is definitly that he is dfed and trying to get back as he carefully takes all the blame personnally and is very clear that it was not the local cong.
The only good part about this is that the headline reads "Former CHURCH elder guilty of sex offence" (caps mine)

as such, am i the only one who fears that one day the society will tell them to eliminate all of us who have been deemed apostates?
i can think of several of my old "friends" who would not hesitate to take me out.

oh - and back on Topic - i am more afraid that one day my JW parents will literally "drink" the koolaid - if they were told to, they would. End of Story. They would sit back and let a dfed son kill himself, or not give blood to a child but to actually stone someone ---hmmmm - never say never I guess
