Marijuana...should it be legalised?
by digderidoo inafter talkin in chat tonight....it has got me and a friend talkin about whether marijuana should be legalised.. my view...yes, .
i) who has the right to tell me what to do with my own body?.
ii) alcohol is a legalised drug....each year more deaths occur through alcohol abuse than marijuana usage.. iii) people smoke it anyway and the question is not bein addressed.. iv) it's great to get stoned!!!

I don't know if anybody has already commented on this part. But if u ask me, marijuana should be legalized and alcohol outlawed. the problem is if they ever decided to outlaw marijuana, and if they did decide to outlaw alcohol again, another prohibition incident would occur. and i wouldn't want to see mobsters return ( even though their cars were pretty nice looking ).

Just thought i'd add, marijuana is legal in colorado for "medicinal" purposes. I'm looking for a non-painful way to require this drug so i can see what all the fuss is about. but i'd never smoke it.

YAY YAY YAY!!!! I'm sooooo happy you posted this question!!! I've been obsessing and spreading my opinion about this topic to all my school friends for days now, cuz i think i've come upon a revelation that i'm sure many people have already reached.
Excuse me if i repeat anybody's previous comment, but i skipped them all to write this cuz i'm so anxious!
Does prayer help anybody? No. NO no no no no no. and no. well.....maybe......NO!!! it doesn't help anybody. I honestly think people do not give themselves enough credit for the things they accomplish. "Must have had some help from God." My butt! Ok, look at this situation. You pray for something good to happen. Maybe you're not exactly rich, and you pray that you win the lottery. You buy several lotter tickets, and you are about to lose hope, when all of a sudden....WOW! YOU WIN $500! must be God! he answered my prayers! yeah. that must be it. he heard your prayer to win the lottery, but forgot about all the people who are starving, sick, and dying round the globe who pray to him every day for a cure, for it to end. he ignores those prayers.
Doesn't it say something in the Bible about God not interfering with human activities? i would think this would include answering prayers. Which is one more contradiction of the Bible. He won't interfere, but he will answer your prayers. My white bootay he will.
Also, i'm tired of people saying, i was praying,"Please God, don't take my baby." LOL! poor them. i mean, why would he spare your baby and let thousands of others die? your baby special? every baby is special, but i mean, c'mon. he puts nobody's life above anybody else's. Whew. felt good to get that off my chest. and once again, sorry if i used something somebody else said. I was just so excited to post this!

Ok. just read the other posts. and decided a previous post was right. Nobody is answering your question. so i will now. does prayer change God's mind? No. Bet you weren't expecting that answer. What do you mean does it change his mind? I really don't believe God has an idea about whether somebody is going to die or not. He might know if it's going to happen or not. MAYBE. But your prayer would not affect his decision. that would be favoritism. and that wouldn't be good in this hell we call earth. ok. i answered the question. sorry bout that.

I am in school, and we just covered the chapter on religions in my World History class. As I understand it, Buddhism is an atheist religion. Period. It appeared in several texts, websites, and my World History book, so this is what I will stick with.

The Father and the Son are individuals. But their "nature" is the same.
Can you see Jesus Christ killing off thousands of people? According to the bible, God has. Judging from the scriptures, Jesus is closer to fitting the description "God is love" and is "disgusted by violence" than any other so called "God" in the bible.

Yes, Americans may be ignorant to the rest of the world because we think America is the best, but when was the last time anybody heard about Great Britian having an immigration problem? seriously now, everybody knows America has better opportunities for education, rights, and freedom, which is why half the world wants to move here.

I personally enjoyed Austin Powers 2, which i'm unsure about where to put the point. Austin Powers was British I think....UK+1. But the movie was a U.S. movie, U.S. + 1. And we could even keep the title as the spy who SHAGGED me. James Bond, same situation. US and UK + 1. But come on. I think we all know who makes the BEST movies ( the MATRIX, Forest Gump, the list goes on and on ) + 1. I'm no big music fan, but I believe the Beatles were from somewhere around there. UK + 1. As for an earlier comment, Rugby has nothing to do with strength or toughness. There is a difference between bravery and STUPIDITY. And FOOTBALL uses hands and an oblong ball; FUTBOL uses feet only. that's all for now.

So wait, let me get this straight. He doesn't think he's anointed, but he still partook? LOL. I'm sorry, but that is the bravest soul on earth. If he does think he's anointed, then more power to him. If not, good luck on this death quest you have embarked upon, emblem partaker.

Does God Help?
by d0rkyd00d ini don't know how far back i was thinking about this, but it came to mind once again as i spoke to my father, who was addicted to marijuana for 27 years.
it took everything away from him, including his family (myself, my sister, and my mother).
he says a higher power must have helped him through these times and caused him to stop (4 years clean this december; wahoo!

I don't know how far back I was thinking about this, but it came to mind once again as I spoke to my father, who was addicted to marijuana for 27 years. It took everything away from him, including his family (myself, my sister, and my mother). He says a higher power must have helped him through these times and caused him to stop (4 years clean this December; wahoo!) But let me pose this question. Why on earth would God help my father of all people, who is almost as unreligious as they come, and not help the millions of starving and suffering severely each day to pray to him?
This may not be a striking thought to most, but is it so hard to believe God doesn't really help anybody at all? Why must everybody turn to God for the reason they were helped? I truly believe it is mind over matter. Is it that hard to believe that you thought you could do something so badly, and THOUGHT you had God's support, and then did it, without actually getting any help from God? People underestimate themselves too much. People think, I KNOW a higher power helped me through this and that. But if a higher power helped you through these trivial things, then why not the millions dying each day? Does God not hear these people? Is there no help for them?
Don't underestimate yourself. Your mind is a powerful thing, and you can do things by yourself believe it or not. God doesn't need to have a hand in things for you to accomplish a lot of goals. But it is nice to think so. It's much easier to place a label on the things we cannot explain or that seemed impossible as having a divine intervention.
