hmmm dannybloem im 99.9 percent sure i mentioned I had limited knowledge on JW etc , So I dont make claim to know "what Im taking about" merely more of an opinion, consider it a ramble of thoughts even...... :P

the beef with the watch tower "bible aids" is this ...does anything that they mention, either A) conflict to what the bible teaches or B) introduce new teachings of sorts.... from what I have read they do...

**another thing is if we are using bible aids etc, we need to make sure nothing we learn or read from these "aids" superceeds that what is taught in the bible

tetrapod.sapien , you have a good point :P although that point is ONLY vaild in context to what is in the bible.. for if someone is using "bible aids" intrepretation (watchtower etc)or extra scriptures (mormon), The focus is drawn off the scriptures, and a outside influence is introduced.

The point im trying to make is :P lets just keep the bible in the hot seat, we dont need these strong outside 'aids' The bible is the be all end all, if you believe in it.

something to note though , where would JW be etc without watchtower society & awake? would their doctrine still be the same? would there intrepretation of the bible still be the same?? I think not....

For any ex-dubs who read this prehaps you could share why you left etc......

Im going to take a stab here and sugest the majority of (ex dubs) would have left for something that the "society" has said or done etc? opposed to something the bible in its entirety had said. Thats a good example why we shouldnt have outside influence...

are we reading the same bible? why do they need extra authoritys on Gods word..... on the limited knowledge I have of mormons & jw I gather they both have extra teachings that are critical to their Faith, such as watch tower and awake mag's and mormons with the extra stuff from that Joesph guy, Ive been reading up about watch tower etc, and its clearly bogus, one example with all the prophecy they have made, not being fulfilled etc (also the fact the bible tells us every word of God is flawless). it seems they take a light that gets brighter and brighter approach to it. i mean comon!

The more I read Gods word, I know its complete, its not missing certain things, (please dont start on dead sea scrolls or things of that nature) the thing is if they are reading the same stuff I am then how come all this extra stuff comes about......

im a little tired right now to dig it out , (I can if needed lol ) but scripture does say woe to anyone who adds or subtracts to the word of God. also that the lord is unchanging etc etc, i also just wana throw it out there, lol isnt watch tower etc considered additions to Gods words?

ive noticed the biggest missconceptions of Jesus come about when you add these extra teachings, they end up creating a Jesus that is not of the bible etc... if these guys were indeed prophets etc, they would have been mentioned in the bible & foretold thus we could obey their teachings etc, but that doesnt happen !!!

So how the heck can certain organisations, call themselves christians or followers of Jesus but not really know him , its such a deception.

quick "on the surface" example. mormons believe Jesus was the brother of the devil etc, and God had a wife etc. ......... does the bible teach these things? answer NO therefore the Jesus mormons preach/worship is not the Jesus of the bible , correct me if im wrong isnt this sorta stuff common sence??

If you want to really set your heart and life on the lord Jesus do so! read the bible, We dont need these extra false teachings floating around for as soon as you do that your asking for trouble.

Im sorry if I have offended anyone , Im just frustrated how people can claim they believe in the bible but then submit to extra added teachings etc ........

i am so confused.

i always have been scared of the last days thing, but i could never accept the fact that while i was in the meetings, my husband and parents were all at home and the witnesses would tell me that unless they changed and started coming to the meetings that they would be killed!

my names Dan , Im 22 from New Zealand , Im a christian ,thanks for sharing about yourself :P it sounds like a super tough situation you have been in..... but you are not alone.

I myself was at the same place as you at one stage of my life except it was not my partner hurting me, it was my father in law. Growing up was tough , I didnt give to much thought to God I was off the rails doing my own thing. I had the mindset of, if he loved me this wouldnt be happening ( I formed that opnion from the very little I knew about him :P )

Eventualy I met some christian people ( long story :P). who were always willing to answer any question I had. I came to a place in my life when I was truly broken I cried to & looked to the lord in my heart. I'd like to say and the rest is history........ but its not, I still face many things in my life that ive brought with me from my childhood etc.

The more the lord teaches me though, the more I understand his commitment to us is enduring ,unending , and his love is abundent ever waiting and he a very present help/strength/ 24 hours a day 7 days a week. the lord is faithfull to his promises. We have the hard years of our lives,in trials & suffering and we also have the good, Jesus knows exactly where YOU are at in your life! Give him your burdens he will sustain you.

I would be more than happy to help you with any questions you may have. you are in my prayers

Is this a valid point about Bible prophecies?

ok, forgive me if this sounds silly but it came to me today.

people keep talking about the earth and its disasters and the fulfilling of prophecies and end times.

but is there a counter argument to these prophecies?

still keeping that in mind the bible does tell us the importance of prophecy Rev 1:3. & Isaiah 46:9-11 *over one quarter of the bible is prophetic, for the unbeliever though in a world where people dont see the bible or Jesus as an authority. fulfilled prophecy can be a great door opener.....

The thing theres no way you can compare biblical theology, in a direct comparison to a human father son analogy, I see where your heading but it just doesnt work. prehaps you should read matt 22:41-45 and that will slove your father son "simple" thesis .......

anyways thanks for your feed back but it is still missdirection of my first postings of my original question. eg I asked someone to explain A B C and if A B C are the same then how and when did D happen???

****fairmind it is impossible to be a christian and a JW at the same time. The trinity (as also other things the Jw and christians have different views on ) is/are essential parts of Christian doctrine. Which JW do not believe, Im not here to flat tack refute stuff back and forth...

Eternity is a super long time,...........

nice points made, but you seemed to have missed my question, in the various scripture that I have given, jehovah has been accredited to alpha omega , beginning and end, Rev 1:17-18 has Jesus himself say that he is the alpha omega begginning and end.

17: When I saw him I fell at his feet as though dead, Then he placed his right hand on me and said, "Do not be afraid, I am the first and the list (alpha omega) 18 I am the living one; I was dead and behold I am alive for ever and ever!! And I hold the keys of death and hades,

If this is not the case and first and last (being a title of God) is not valid then tell me then when did jehovah die? for the title claimed was that of God.....and as the latter part of that scripture indicates" I am the living one; I was dead and behold i am alive for ever and ever,.....

just before that is refuted..... let me just say The bible is the authority on all things,

2 tim 3:16 "all scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching rebuking, correcting and training in rightousness,"

2 sam 22:31 " The word of the lord is flawless"
also

proverbs 30:5 "everyword of God is flawless"

also

psalms 18:30 "the word of the lord is flawless"

keeping that in mind,I would like to hear your answer in DIRECT context to the scripture given.

Jw believe Jesus christ is not God. they do not believe in the trinity. Thanks for the info guys, Im out to test the thinking of the JW's and see if we can stir them towards the truth,
