After Katrina it was like 2 months and I almost died. We were out of phone service during that time so I couldn't even use dial-up. We were without power for 3 weeks..... It was hell.

I need your help…………I need to get your Phone # to where you are going to be at lunch 12:00-1:00 & 4:30-. I need your help with scanning my resume on the computer. I’m going out to Tom’s house to do it……….
LET ME UPDATE YOU ON SOME THINGS AFTER ALL THIS IS A FAMILY MATTER. YOUR DAD WANT ME TO SIGH OVER THE HOUSE (NEW ONE) HE IS GOING TO SELL THE RENT HOUSE AFTER TAKING OUT TAXES I WILL GET 6,000.00 MAYBE THAT’S IT ON THAT. HE WANTS TO KEEP PROTECH NOT GIVE ME ANYTHING ON THAT. HE KEEPS ALL THE TOOLS, TRAILORS, STOVE, FRIG, FREEZER, DISHWASHER, RECLINER, T.V.ENTERTAINMENTCENTER, ALL OFFICE FURNITURE,AND THE THINGS THAT GOES IN THE OFFICE. ALL BEDROOM FURNITURE HE KEEPS, HE SOLD OUR BRAND NEW MATTRESS TO SUE TRACY AND KEPT THE MONEY FOR HIMSELF ( I DIDN’T KNOW THIS UNTIL AFTER THE FACT) OVER $2,000.00 HE SOLD HIS GUNS FOR $1,800.00 KEPT THE MONEY. I DIDN’T GET A DIME OF THIS MONEY. HE GETS, WASHER DRYER, FORMAL TABLE 6 CHAIRS, BAR STOOLS, OVERSIZED CHAIR IN LIVINGROOM, LAWN MOWER ( NEW ONE), ANN SAID I COULD TAKE THAT OLD BEDROOM SUIT THAT WAY TOM COULD HAVE THE BETTER ONE. I’M NOT TAKING IT………. I’M NOT SIGNING OVER THE NEW HOUSE UNTIL I GET $40,000.00 THAT’S ALL I’M ASKING HIS FAMILY WILL COME UP WITH IT TO KEEP HIM FROM SELLING IT OR MOVING IN WITH THEM. OH, AND HE GETS THE CAR. I’M SO UPSET…….HE IS ONLY THINKING OF HIMSELF. HE DOESN’T HAVE ME IN HIS HEART AT ALL. HIS FAMILY HAS TURNED ON ME.
If I take him to court my lawyer said that I will have to pay half his his bills which he owes credit card adding up to $38,000.00 I can’t pay half that no way. But I’m NOT signing the house over until I get $40,000.00. Your mother has sense, he thinks I don’t, but he is pushing for divorce.
He wants me to walk out with my recliner, couch, coffee table, hutch, chest w/marble top, double set mattress, 2 bar stools, t.v. & cabinet in bedroom, rent house (what I can get out of it) he has to see it though, my clothes.
Ya'll -- I need to vent. This is an email that I got from my mother. Can you believe that if I needed help it would be tough luck. Now that she needs something, she expects me to jump.
And I'm supposed to help when she breaks into my Dad's house?
And when did I become a financial advisor??!! .. I don't want to know this crap. I can't take sides between my mom and dad! I just want to be a daughter and that's it. I would have rather her informed me of the family matter when my non-jw aunt died (She didn't tell me until after the funeral because she didn't want me to go to the funeral.)

Like they think its rediculous that Mormons don't drink caffine but its perfectly normal for JWs to not eat lucky charms because there is a lepricon on the front.

Predestination?
by Zico inpredestination is something ive been thinking a bit about of late, mainly due to a wt article on the subject printed in the may awake, which i read after skimming through the magazine at the weekend.
i believe the wt reasoning on the subject is that god has the ability to see into the future, but that he chooses not to look into the future, as it would negate our free will, although the recent may article was more a criticism of predestination, and although they didnt assert their own position, what struck me from reading the article, and contemplating the wt article in general is that they seem to focus on time a lot, and its this part where the wt idea of predestination seems to fall down to me.
if god created the universe and everything in it, as a jw would assert, this would also mean he would have had to have created time (which is a product of our universe) and so before god created time, it, obviously, wouldnt have existed, and without time, there cant be a past, present and future.

Oh that's a good one too. I knew there was another chapter that was pretty clear.
One other point that I have heard used that's pretty good is this: God chose the nation of Isreal over the other Gentile nations in the times before Jesus. Why wouldn't he use the same rule and choose some and not others in this day?

Romans 8:
28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.
29 For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren;
30 and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.
Eph 1:
4 just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him In love
5 He predestined us to adoption as sons through Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the kind intention of His will,

Our Watchtower Study On obedience & submission
by dark angle inyesterday we have a study of the watchtower about obedience and submission.
this study arose a lot of questions and heightened emotions in me and the interested retired judge sitting besides me.
we came accross the 9th pharagraph, page 28 of the april 1, 2007, where it says that: "it is easy to obey when everything is clear and we agree, but we will show that we are trully submissive if we yeild even when we do not personally understand the direction provided.

to the time when i both witnessed and delivered talks.
one of the defining moments of why .

Maybe this is why I got out of the borg -- My talks were always real... rofl. I had people in the audience with a microphone interrupting on purpose .. and I would make us stand up instead of sit down. Then I would make the householder skeptical on purpose .. hahahaha .. mine were fun :)

Everytime I talk about this I end up getting this answer: "It doesn't really matter -- we'll find out one day" I really hate that answer.
God had to know ... I agree with you .. He isn't all-knowing if he doesn't know all .. rofl
I believe we were predestined but that our choices were still real when we made them. At least they really felt real. And if we didn't make the choice, what was the point in all of this? (this leads to the wonder of why does evil exist if free will does not?) So I end up in this loop of thinking -- If God knew that "insert name of unsaved here" was not going to choose Him, why did he create that person?

There is more to a person than their ex-jw past. Finding a person you love and can live with is more important than their ex-jw past.
